I like to learn as much as I can about each pet's routine, likes, and dislikes, so I can continue their lives as close to normal as possible. It’s really helpful to know things about their daily schedule, feeding routine, energy level, and any stressors or triggers. Knowing their medical needs, medications, mobility limitations, and how they do around other people and animals will help me with preparation as well. The more details you can share, the better I can make sure they feel safe and at home while you’re away.
A typical day
For more active pets I like to use long walks, playtime with their favorite toys, or outdoor adventures to get out all their energy. For calmer or senior pets I switch to gentle walks, enrichment toys, and plenty of relaxed companionship. All animals get plenty of affection, attention, and mental stimulation while you’re away.
