Pet care experience

Joy and comfort for your pet

I've taken care of cats and dogs for family and friends for many years. I've even owned a few during my life. I have offered a firm, guiding hand for puppies that need training, and I easily provide a more gentle approach for senior and disabled pets. Feeding, walking, and caring for pets are some of the biggest joys in my life.

Our Baxter is often skittish away from home, but he loves, loves, loves to go to Derek and Zion's house! It's like camp for him, and we feel so secure about leaving him with them.

Zion & Derek took great care of my dog. I received pictures and feedback about how she was doing. I will definitely use them again!

Schedule

I'm a full time medical student, but I have a very flexible class schedule. For pets that need constant attention, my roommate Derek is home for the few hours that I am out at school. He accepts the pets if I am unable to be home at a convenient time.

Safety, trust & environment

I care for pets by feeding and walking them at regular intervals. I administer any medications with the most gentle methods possible. We have space set up in our kitchen for food and water bowls and in our office for a bed and toys. We also have a detachable shower head in case dogs need any emergency bathing.

A typical day

Typically, I start off with a lazy morning. Short walks mostly for potty time. More energetic dogs and puppies usually get longer walks in the afternoon or evening to help burn energy. I usually take them for a few laps around our cul de sac. If the weather is nice, we may walk to the local store and back if they can tolerate it.

I mostly need to know the medical history of the pet, any medications, and how they are usually administered. I also like to know how to handle any nervous habits if they have any.
