Pet care experience

Calm and flexible caretaker

I've had/taken care of animals since I was 10 years old. We had cats, fish, rats, dogs, and snakes. I previously worked at PetSmart, where I cared for other animals like rodents, birds, and reptiles. I also handled crickets and cleaned enclosures, sometimes administering medication to sick animals. There were a few times when I volunteered at Chambers Prairie Animal Hospital, where I cared for animals before and after surgeries, sometimes clipping nails or just providing comfort during their transitional periods. I also volunteered at Joint Animal Services, where I maintained animal habitats, walked dogs, and played with and fed whichever animals needed the attention. I've been watching other people's pets for decades, keeping them company, going for walks, and sometimes administering medication. Pet care is something I take seriously, because their quality of life is important to me, not just giving them the bare necessities while their pet parent is away.

Safety, trust & environment

I like to know what the client's routine with their pet is because I know structure and routine can be important to the animal. I would try to adhere to their routine as closely as possible, and pay close attention to feeding and/or medication schedules. Play time and extra affection are important while the pet may be anxious to not have their parent around and have a new person in their home. I'm open to whatever the animal needs, no matter how strange it may sound to a newcomer in their life.

Zee watched my cat for 16 days while I was on vacation. She sent me updates, made sure to play and brush him and kept me updated. I'm highly recommend her.

Zee was great. This was not an easy assignment thanks to our cockatoo, but Zee handled it with grace and a positive attitude. She went above and beyond. Thank you!

My name is Max, I've been house and pet sitting for over a quarter century, and Zee is *the* person I would trust most to take care of any pets and home - including my own - in my place. Zee is outstandingly competent and responsible, great at taking care of and improving any space she occupies, and is well liked if not adored by every dog, cat, and frog I've ever seen her around - a lot of the dogs I take care of get even more excited to see her than me, and cats that hide from most other people tend to be comfy with her right away. If you're looking for someone with a breadth of experience who will prioritize the well-being of your pets, and likely exceed your expectations all around, Zee is by far my first and best recommendation.

Schedule

I currently have a full-time job at WSDOT, but I've been able to provide care before work, sometimes during lunch, after work, and on the weekends. I'm happy to make time to see pets up to 3 times a day. If a pet lives further from my home, I'd rather stay overnight with them to make things easier on both of us.

I need to know if/how they're trained, if they jump/scratch/nip/bite (not a deal-breaker for me, by the way), if they need medication, and if they're loud/cry a lot.
