Hi, I’m Zelina (“Zee”), and caring for animals has been a lifelong passion of mine. I hold a B.S. in Animal Science, Pre-Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University and have hands-on experience in dog training, canine behavior, animal care, veterinary medicine, surgery, and orthopedics. Over the years, I’ve worked with dogs in laboratory and veterinary settings, volunteered with animal rescue, and owner-trained my own service dog. I also enjoy training my own dogs, including working with Saga in conformation and scent work, and earning Trick Dog and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) titles with Ollie. My veterinary and animal science background has taught me to look at each dog as an individual, paying attention not only to their behavior and personality but also to their health, comfort, and overall well-being. Whether your dog is playful and energetic, nervous in a new environment, needs extra structure, or simply loves being spoiled, I want them to feel safe, understood, and cared for while they’re with me. As a dog sitter, I bring professional animal experience together with genuine love for dogs. I believe the best care includes plenty of attention, enrichment, patience, and the consistency that helps dogs feel comfortable away from home. My goal is for every pet parent to feel confident knowing their dog is in caring, experienced hands.

I have known Zee, ever since she moved in. I have e lived here since 1990. Zee is exceptionaly good with my two pups, A 3 yr old Havaton and a 2 yr old Havaneese. They look forward to her coming over and love going to her place. She is great with them. My Havanese was abused as a pup, through her gentle ways he now trusts her enough to excitedly run to greet her, sit on her lap and even roll over for belly scratches. Are there better sitters, maybe but I haven't found them. I trust her. Give her a try!
I have never met anyone who loves and cares about animals' well being more than Zee does. I've trusted her with my own pets on multiple occasions. Anyone should feel confident in putting their trust in her when it comes to their pets.
Zee has been our dog sitter since she was 11 years old. She is one of the few people we trust absolutely with our dog. She not only makes sure the dogs basic needs are being met, she goes above and beyond and makes sure they get the extra love and attention they need when their owners can’t be there. She loves all pets like they are her own. Zee has a tremendous amount of experience with animals of kinds. She is our go to dog sitter.

Schedule
Because I work from home, your pet receives care in a home environment with plenty of attention throughout the day. When I’m not working, I’m often outside working on our latest project: transforming our backyard into a pet paradise! We’re continually adding improvements and enrichment features to create a safe, fun, and comfortable space for the animals in our care. This means your pet gets to enjoy a relaxed home setting, a consistent routine, and plenty of opportunities for enrichment while they’re staying with us.

Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Because I work from home, pets staying with me are able to enjoy a calm home environment with regular supervision and attention throughout the day. I maintain a clean, structured, and pet-friendly space and take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, needs, and comfort level before they stay with me. I believe trust is built by respecting each animal as an individual. Some pets are social and love attention, while others need more space and time to settle in. I never force interaction and instead allow pets to become comfortable at their own pace. I provide regular updates through Rover so you can feel connected and confident while you’re away. For pets staying in my home, I provide dedicated spaces and supervised enrichment tailored to their needs. I’m also continually improving our backyard to create a safe and enriching “pet paradise” where pets can enjoy supervised outdoor time. For in-home visits, I follow your pet’s established routine as closely as possible and treat your home and belongings with the same care and respect I would expect in my own home. With my background in animal care and veterinary settings, I’m also attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, energy, and overall well-being. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for while their family is away. We have a 6ft privacy fence. We require vaccinations. We require strict sanitation protocols and utilize labortory grade sanitizer and disinfectant to protect your pet.

A typical day
Since I work from home, your pet gets plenty of attention and interaction throughout the day. Dogs may enjoy supervised backyard time, walks, play, training games, and enrichment, while cats can choose between playtime, window watching, exploring, or relaxing in their own space. I tailor activities to each pet’s personality and energy level, with plenty of downtime too. I’m also happy to send your pet home clean, fresh, and pampered with grooming services available as an add-on to their stay. And when I’m not working, I’m usually outside adding to our backyard “pet paradise,” so there’s always something new to explore!

Please let me know about their personality, daily routine, feeding schedule, medications, allergies, sensitivities, fears, behaviors, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. I also appreciate knowing their favorite treats, toys, activities, and any house rules you’d like me to follow. Most importantly, please be upfront about any behavioral or medical concerns. My goal is to make your pet’s stay safe, comfortable, and as stress-free as possible while keeping you informed along the way.
