Seguridad, confianza y entorno

My husband and I welcome dogs throughout the house, including on our bed. We also have comfortable dog beds. Our large outdoor patio is a bonus in downtown San Diego, and it is enclosed with an artificial grass area for dogs if they need the relief between walks. We'd provide at least three walks per day as well. I always let dogs determine the pace as many walk more slowly than I would if walking alone. I'm always paying attention when walking dogs - not staring at my phone. I'm present and protective of the pups in my care. Healthy, delicious dog treats are plentiful here, though we believe in keeping dogs at ideal weights for their health. We will follow your lead and instructions when it comes to your dogs. There will always be filtered water available for the pups. At our home, you'll often find relaxing music on, nice natural light, and lots of comfortable spots for dogs to make themselves at home both inside and on our Zen patio. We keep our home at a comfortable temperature for the pups with fresh air flowing in, and we have AC or heat when needed. Toys are plentiful, but we can remove them if you're concerned about antlers or if your dog might be a chewaholic. We have kongs and puzzle feeders, too. I always give dogs extra attention at first - even if that means giving them space - so that they can acclimate to the new environment. When my dog Django was alive, he'd mentor the newcomers and show them the ropes. With few exceptions, the dogs adjusted quickly and saw our place as home away from home. I'm good at reading dogs' body language and understanding them on many levels, which includes determining if two dogs might need space from each other. We're fortunate to live in a community that welcomes dogs of all sizes and breed mixes. If you have a dog who needs to be the solo dog staying with us, that can often be arranged. We always want to discuss the dogs' needs, behavior, temperament, routine, likes and dislikes beforehand so that we can do our best to ensure a good fit. We like to have clients complete a client survey and a medical emergency form just to be prepared in the event of such an emergency if clients were unreachable.

Información que a Zannah & Doug M. le gustaría saber sobre tu mascota

So that we can best care for your dog, please let me know as much as you can in advance: - special needs (allergies, medications, mobility-related, hearing impairment, anxiety etc) - if your dog would need to be carried up/down our HOA steps to the exit - health challenges (My husband is a retired EMT with dog first aid experience & a reference app. I was certified in pet first aid many years ago, but haven't had to use it.) - any triggers so that we may avoid them as best possible (ex. walking by his/her food bowl during meal time, skateboards, little kids, loud noises though there are fireworks downtown many wkends FYI, unneutered dogs, certain breeds, canes, being left alone, rain, car rides, men in baseball caps, smoke alarms, squirrels or whatever it may be) - if they must be the solo dog (can sometimes be arranged) - if they'll need flea/tick meds while in my care (or other meds) - if they bark excessively in certain situations - if they'll want their crate - if you have a car harness/safety belt for them - if they're microchipped & have ID tags - if your dog is a door dasher (our front door opens to the outside, though within our HOA community that is gated) - your dog's energy level, age - if your dog tends to chew shoes or furniture if left alone - if your dog has accidents in the house (If so, let me know if there's a tip to avoid them well ... like removing water after the last walk of the night.) - how your dog walks on leash - typical walk schedule - feeding instructions - emergency contact info & ER authorization form (we can provide it) - Vet's contact info (& if your vet can provide a health certificate at time of booking) *If your dog has a contagious condition at time of booking, we'd need to find a way to keep dogs apart for safety .... if we had other dogs booked with us at that time. Please relay this important info to us asap. * I can send our online survey for completion, which touches on all the questions above.

My husband and I both engage the dogs we care for. I'm the primary caretaker and nurturing one while he's extra fun. He plays tug of war and runs with the dogs (sprints) if they want to. His belly rubs are epic. I play the Find-It game, give frozen kongs and puzzle toys. I love all the cuddles if your pup is a fan. I'm the adventurer, so I'll take dogs on all sorts of sniffaris and exploratory walks and drives to different neighborhoods and beach towns ... if the dogs like road trips. I won't let dogs off-leash unless the area is enclosed, and it will depend on your guidance. My husband and I tend to take the dogs with us if we go out for a bite to eat, a drink, or a cultural outing. Dogs are family. We believe in including them as long as they are safe and comfortable ... and allowed at the establishment.

Auntie Z's Dog B&B - I cherish dogs

Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas

Dogs give us "2 paws up" for our slumber parties. :) Dogs are my cause. I've been nurturing and protecting them for 14 years. I've also learned from them and been protected by them ... because dogs are the best species on earth. I have a soft spot for senior, special-needs, and shy dogs. I’m a fiercely protective dog mom and dog Aunty whose beloved boy Django just passed away at 15. He was my heart dog and soul dog. Still is. He was a senior, arthritic, deaf dog with other special needs and health challenges. I dedicated my life to exceeding his needs whether emotional, mental, spiritual or physical, and whether about diet, lifestyle or environment. I became an integrative wellness practitioner for dogs so that I would be educated and prepared as Django went through different life stages. Some of his successes include overcoming separation anxiety, handling hearing impairment with grace, managing arthritis well, stopping tremors, beating liver disease, having agency about his time to die, and staying connected even now. I’ve taken care of dogs for the past 14 years, starting with Django (adopted then), his pals, neighbors’ dogs, and other clients. In New York City, I had a referral-based doggie B&B where I became Auntie to dozens and dozens of dogs through the years who would look forward to their sleepovers and playtime with Django. It was like sleepaway camp, but in a loving home. I’m new to this app, but I’ve done dog-sitting since moving to California as well as other pet care and animal wellness services - energy healing, animal communication, nutrition guidance, detox education, stress management support, and a digital course on holistic health for dogs. I’m certified in Reiki for animals, integrative health coaching, and am working on pet loss grief support services. I've also produced loads of events from dog birthday parties to celebrations of life, and from art exhibits to rock concerts and cultural festivals. With animal wellness coaching and my digital course, I’ve helped dog parents get clear on dietary, lifestyle and environmental choices for their dogs to optimize wellbeing and manage stress. Happy to share wellness tips and dog food resource guides I've created for clients. I’m an animal advocate and plan to foster dogs in need through TAP, Frosted Faces, and/or other rescues while I also volunteer at SD Humane Society. My husband is retired from FDNY EMS, and his first responder emergency medicine background has proven critically important with a few dogs in our care over the years. It’s a privilege to be with and care for animals. We are downtown near Seaport Village, lovely parks, and the waterfront in a mini-oasis of a community with our own lovely patio and HOA security. We would love to connect, meet your dogs, and have an opportunity to take care of them in our home.

I can’t say enough great things about zannah and Doug! They came to my rescue when I was halfway across the world and needing to shift my corgi’s care when the original sitter didn’t work out. She asked all the right questions to make sure he’d be a good fit and took him in last minute. Immediately I was put at ease that he was in good hands and I could tell he was having the best time with them! I got amazing picture and video updates of him on walks, sleeping peacefully and playing with toys! Zannah even gave me great tips to improve his overall care. She truly understands dog behavior and has the experience to pivot if something isn’t working. I fully recommend booking zannah and Doug - especially if you’re a nervous doggy parent like me!

I did not feel comfortable leaving my sweet boy with anyone. Until now. The attention to detail, the affection and love, the meetings and required paperwork to make sure all the things were annotated for my special needs, senior, def pup said it all. Zannah and Doug will be the only people who watch my dog from now on. I am so greatful I found them. If you are a nervous pet parent like I was, just reach out to them and your anxiety will melt away. I promise,

Zannah and Doug were amazing! I really can't say enough good. We met them to care for our wildly energetic young Milo and instantly hit it off. Their space is made for dogs and it's clear they have a good understanding of how dogs operate and LOVE them. Zannah and Doug were super easy-going, helped us with city tour items (outside of the scope of the job) just because they're totally awesome! We can't wait to get back to San Diego and visit again and Milo will be so excited to get back to Zannah and Doug's! Thanks so much for taking such good care of Milo! Would 10/10 recommend!
