Pet care experience

Gentle Giant looking to walk dogs

I grew up with pets my whole life - ferrets, fish, cats, and primarily bigger dog breeds (cocker spaniels and Labradors). I'm the kind of person who will show up to a party and hang out with your dog instead of the people for 3 hours. It is a given that I love animals, and ever since I moved from my family after covid, I am not able to have a long-term pet in my living situation. I do sometimes take care of my neighbors cat, however I'd like to spend more time with dogs as they are my favorite.

The setting Zachary provides was ideal for us, no other pets were present or booked at the same time allowing our dog to have individualized attention. Good communication throughout and was willing to work with last minute schedule change.

Excellent dog-sitter. I have 2 retired racing greyhounds, and the girls seemed love it- Especially the noce, gated backyard and lounging all over the place. Definitely a 5.5 star sitter that went above and beyond.

Zach was great! I really appreciate he receives one client per booking, that was helpful for my anxious dog. They loved being couch potatoes and going to the outside to play and hunt invisible animals. My dogs felt at home really fast! Also he was willing to learn a couple of commands in Spanish to communicate with my mexican dogs ❤️.

Zachary was great with my petsitting needs - especially given that I reached out for the first time within a week of needing the help. He fit me into his schedule for a meet n greet (which went really well), I really liked that he had a fenced in backyard. The stay was arranged for 5 days (I ended up coming back a day early and was able to pick him up early). Zachary provided updates early in the stay to let me know how my dog was settling in. Zachary was very responsive to my messages and was quick to reply. If you have a dog with separation anxiety (like mine), it was great that he lives in a house, so there were no wall neighbors (such as apartments) to worry about with any barking. If I find myself traveling for a few days again, I will definitely reach out to see if Zachary is available to watch my dog!

Schedule

I work 40 hours a week, 7am - 3pm Monday through Friday. Your pet needs to be comfortable being alone for 8 hours. I've had issues with dogs not handling my schedule well and damaging property so I need to be clear on this. I also prefer a 2 day notice for boarding requests. You can still attempt to request if its last minute, I get it, life happens. I have taken one that was the day-of. But I cannot guarantee a confirmation on anything less than 2 days.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced in backyard and currently no other animals or people in my home. I can provide a safe and comfortable living space for a dog. I do not mind if they are on my furniture or if they want to sleep in my bed at night. Disclaimer: If I do not feel comfortable with a booking, I do reserve the right to deny a request for any reason.

A typical day

I can play both sides of the coin. Im down to either play fetch and tug of war, or just crash on the couch and pet'em for an hour straight. I like trying to read their body language and see what they're thinking. I can also take them for a few 15 minute walks daily as the neighborhood is quite nice.

Zachary can host up to 2 pets per night
The main things I need to know ahead of time is if they are potty trained and if you would provide any toys/leash/etc. I live alone and have no pets, so there are no concerns with aggressive or territorial behavior. I just want to make sure they'll do their business in my backyard to avoid any carpet stains (I do have a shampooer, accidents happen) and if youll provide toys, as I dont have any. As for walks, I would be more than happy to as long as you provide their leash/harness.
