Information Zachary M. would like to know about your pet

I have had a vast experience with different animals and needs. This is always a hard question, by it's very nature, but if there is anything - behavior, habit or response that seems normal to you, but some other person, guest or pet owner would not find "normal", I would appreciate being made aware of during our in person meeting.

A typical day

I deal with Dogs and Cats, and each animal has a different experience and lifestyle. Each animal has their own personality, behavior and interaction with strangers and sitters. I intend to approach each animal with a unique expectation that they will have a different need from me, and will get the utmost respect and care I will provide.

Pet care experience

I have worked as a dog walker through Wag, as a part of that have done dog-sitting before. Have had pets all my life, mainly cats but have taken care of dogs before (black labs). I have taken obedience classes as electives in the past, and am comfortable working with all kinds of dogs from terriers to boxers. I like to walk, but am also just as at ease with spending time indoors and playing, resting or just being around them. I know that dogs need different things depending on mood, situation, or simply personality. Keeping their safety as my priority, the welfare of the animal is something that you, the family member is aware of the most, and I will listen to your direction. I hope that my words set you at ease, and am looking forward to working with you. Be aware that as a policy I do require - and will ask - that any jobs or requests be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled date of service, as I need time to arrange in person meet and greets (at least for the first job I do for you) and confirm my schedule for the times requested.

Ok, this is the only negative review I have ever written on this platform. Zach was scheduled to foster puppy sit from 11/14 at noon to 11/15 at 7 PM - a pup I was still getting to know. (She was a foster as she was losing weight in the shelter and needed to put it back on to get spay) I asked Zach to take her (Zena) outside only on leash as I was not sure yet if she would try to jump the fence. Apparently, the first one of his three major responsibilities (other than feeding and not allowing him to eat whatever was within reach) was not respected. Either Zach had Zena on leash and watched her did a deep hole (on one end, then continue for another 5 feet (less deep) or he just let her out, did not care and did not even know. Which of these are worse? Also, on 11/14, he texted me asking if I had ibuprofen or acetaminophen, so I told him where I kept it. Four minutes later he texted 'Thanks, the birds and Zee decided to harmonize at a really high pitch for an hour or so'. On 11/15, he texted at 10:36 AM asking for my ETA. I responded 30 minutes later saying 'probably 4ish if all goes well on the drive' (I was driving back from Idaho). At 2:05 PM he texted 'I need to go get food and probably clear out so you can have a place to park, so I am packing up'. Note, my driveway can park 6-8 cars with no problem. He was to be there until 7 PM unless I got home early. He left 5 minutes after 2 PM without any knowledge of how the drive was going or when (definitely) I would be home. Not only that, but he did not do his dishes, and I found unidentified large pieces of plastic pipe like material, fluff stuffing and other unknown materials all over the floor. No information was provided about food intake, how anything went, well other than he got a headache doing his job. He did however, take picture of picking up and leaving the key and one pix of my pup. Most of these Rover sitters are fantastic, this is just not one of them, please steer clear. If I could give a zero rating I would.
