Safety, trust & environment

I live in a 2 bedroom home with a fenced yard. I have a beautiful AmStaff named Froya, she is 4 years old. Froya is appropriately socialized with dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy-levels (some examples in my photos). She has a high-energy level and is well trained. Your dog's safety, health, and happiness are important to me. When a dog is under my care I want them to feel comfortable and at home, I know that takes time when we are in a new environment. I have a questionnaire I send or we can fill it out by phone, I ask questions about your dog's daily routine. I like to know your dog's routine/routines so I can do my best to provide the same routine in my home. If I minimize changes to your dog's routine, I believe they will be comfortable, happy and both mentally and physically healthy when they're under my care. I want to get to know your dog or dogs and I want you to feel comfortable leaving them with me. It is a great feeling when a guest pup settles in here and I enjoy sharing that experience with the dog's humans/pawents. That is what I am working for.

Information Zachary C. would like to know about your pet

I have the questionnaire that will ask some of these questions as well. 1. Any allergies or medical conditions I need to know please? 2. How your dog or dogs handle on the leash? 3. Positive words/sounds or Negative words/sounds that your dog will react to? 4. Has your dog ever experienced a trauma? Been attacked/abused by people, other dog(s), cat(s), or wildlife? 5. Socialization level with other dogs and with people?

A typical day

A typical day would depend on the dog or dog's under my care. Some dogs can handle a lot more activity than others, that's something we would discuss during the questionnaire. There is quite a range of activities we could do impromptu though. If your dog/dogs have a favorite game or toy they brought along or found here, I have lots, I'll play fetch or tug of war with them. If they are the type of dog that will play tug of war with another dog, Froya would be overjoyed to take part. I'd have a watchful eye on them always, and have my phone camera ready to send some photos or videos to you.

Pet care experience

I have about 15 or more years of pet and animal care experience. I grew up with a family of 3 brothers and at least 2-3 large breed dogs so I have that experience of animal care as well. As an adult I have worked with many different animals on ranches and farms in Northern and Eastern Colorado. While working in these area's I never experienced a farm or ranch that didn't have multiple cats and/or dogs around the place. Dog's are my favorite animal to care for, they are very interactive and clever and I truly feel passion and fulfilment by keeping dogs in good physical and mental health.

Willis had the best stay with Zachary and his sweet dog. They knew exactly how to care for Willis, lots of naps and time on the couch together. I picked up a happy and calm dog, thank you Zachary.

Zachary is so helpful while we’re in the puppy training phase! He offers great suggestions, is willing to flow with our training regime, and is really great about communicating how it’s all working out in real life when he’s here for a drop-in visit!
