Zachary can care for
Availability
My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to make pet care a regular part of my day rather than something I have to squeeze in. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and longer stays, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. I’m comfortable adjusting to each pet’s routine and can usually accommodate both planned bookings and last-minute needs. Whether your dog needs an early walk, company during the day, or someone dependable while you are away, I’m ready to help.

About Zachary A.
Safety, trust & environment
I believe trust begins with respecting a pet’s normal routine. In a client’s home, I follow instructions closely, keep doors and gates secure, use a leash whenever required, and make sure feeding, walks, medication, and household rules are handled exactly as requested. I also treat the home itself with care and provide regular updates so owners know how their pet is doing. If I’m caring for a pet in my home, introductions are handled slowly and calmly, especially around my own Labrador. I supervise interactions, give each dog space when needed, and never force play or attention. My goal is to create a steady, comfortable environment where pets feel safe, understood, and cared for until their family returns.

Pet care experience
For the past seven years, I’ve had the good fortune of sharing life with my fox red Labrador retriever. He has traveled with me through Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, New Jersey, and now California. Along the way, I learned that dogs do not need perfection from us. They need patience, consistency, exercise, and someone they can trust. My approach is influenced by Stonnie Dennis and his belief that a good dog is developed through calm leadership, clear expectations, real-world experiences, and plenty of worthwhile adventure. I’m not a professional trainer, but I’m comfortable reinforcing established commands, leash manners, household rules, and daily routines. I believe dogs learn best when they are engaged, treated fairly, and given the chance to explore the world with confidence. When I care for someone’s dog, I try to give them what I would want for my own: a steady hand, a good walk, some play, and the feeling that everything is all right until their person comes home.
