Availability

I provide 24-hour house and pet sitting in the home and I also work remotely (part-time), so it’s very easy for me to arrange my schedule around pets’ regular routines. I love to take care of pets in their own homes because I think this is the least stressful option for them while their guardians are away. I stick to the pets' regular routines and they can have a calm time while their guardians are away!

Safety, trust & environment

For a dog sit, the day starts taking the dog out for a very quick potty break and walk. Then I get organized for the day and give the pet(s) their breakfast as well as any required medication(s). After breakfast, dogs will get another walk. Then I lock into work for a few hours (usually starting around 9 or 10 a.m. until about 1 or 2 p.m.). I’m someone who can’t still for very long, but that works really well for potty breaks as well as mid-day or afternoon walks with dogs. Their break and playtime/treat time is also my break! After this break (or breaks), I’ll finish work for the day and give the pets’ their dinner and any necessary medication. After dinner, we’re all ready for some relaxation and snuggle time. For dogs, they also get another potty break or two before bedtime (as much as needed). I'm also happy to take care of any houseplants with their regular watering schedules and general chores like trashes/recycling, etc.

Information Yvonne W. would like to know about your pet

Let me know your pet's wake up, walk, and mealtime schedules and I'll stick to this so everything feels as normal and calming as possible for them.

A typical day

As a in-house sitter, I’ll give your pet plenty of playtime with their favorite toys and we’ll also go to their favorite local parks and trails. I love to play with cats as well (a wand toy is great for excercise)! Or we’ll play with any of their favourites balls or mouse toys. Evenings are for cuddling up on the couch (if allowed) with a TV show or movie. They’ll enjoy some chill and cozy time to relax after a fun day! Your pet(s) will get plenty of attention and TLC through the sit! :)

Pet care experience

Aside from growing up with cats and also regularly pet-sitting for friends and family over the years, I also worked for two years at Seattle Humane (as their Marketing & Communications Associate). During my time at the shelter, I regularly fostered pets. I gained a lot of hands-on animal handling experience with cats, dogs, and critters of all shapes, sizes and ages, including pets with medical conditions. I've also stepped in as a media spokesperson for Seattle Humane at local news stations, where I was able to introduce adoptable pets on the news and discuss adoption events, pet tips and safety. I don’t have any pets of my own right now because for the past few years, I’ve been living and working abroad as an English teacher and digital marketer. I’ve loved pet-sitting around the globe as part of my travels (see some photos and reviews in my photo gallery!). Wherever I go in the world, I love spending time with pets! That being said, I’m so happy to be back home in the States because it’s allowing me to spend more time with my family and also meet awesome pets here in the Pacific Northwest!

Yvonne was incredible. Our four pups were well taken care of and we received daily updates and photos. We were able to enjoy our vacation without worrying about the pups.

Excellent pet sitter! Looked after my boy @nd girls like they were her own. My dogs were looking for her the next day. Will definitely look to book for future needs.

My husband and I have had the pleasure of hiring Yvonne as a house-sitter and pet-sitter for our two cats and our Belgian Malinois on many occasions. She does a wonderful job watching over everything, often sending us photos and updates of how the animals are doing and even weathering through storms and power outages! We always come back to our home clean and our pets happy and well-fed. She is one of the few people that our dog, (who has separation anxiety), genuinely trusts and loves. Our cats are very happy and comfortable around her too. Her experience working at a shelter has also made her a trusted resource for any advice about our pets' health and well-being. When she is available to stay in our home, we are truly grateful and relieved!
