After a rewarding career in mental health, I made the decision to take early retirement and pursue a long-standing dream of working with our animal friends. I’ve always had pets as part of my family and have loved and appreciated the many ways in which they have enriched my life. In addition to being a devoted pet parent to two french bulldogs (one of whom is blind), I am committed to on-going learning to enhance my knowledge and skills. I’ve recently completed courses in dog and cat behaviour and animal welfare through University of Edinburgh as well as dog cognition and emotion. I have completed the Fear Free pet sitter certification program as well Pet First Aid/CPR training. I am also well experienced with brachycephalic dog and cat breeds (french and english bulldogs, pugs and Persians). I welcome the opportunity to work with your animal family members and will love them like they are my own.💕🐾

As a fear free certified pet sitter, I utilize a considerate approach in working with our animal companions. I observe and respond to dog and cat body language to inform my interactions with them. I use positive reinforcement techniques to build trust and connection with the pets I work with and love integrating enrichment activities to provide them with physical and mental challenges. Serving communities of Mount Hope, Binbrook, Ancaster, Caledonia and Hamilton Mtn.

She takes such incredible care of him and treats our home with the same respect and attention. It gives us complete peace of mind knowing Shrug is in such capable and caring hands. What really sets Yvonne apart are the beautiful photos she sends and the detailed updates after each visit. You can truly see Shrug’s personality in every photo, and her messages always let us know exactly how he’s doing. It makes being away from him so much easier. She also goes above and beyond by bringing Shrug new treats and toys that he always looks forward to, which is such a thoughtful touch. On top of that, she helps with little things around the house like watering plants and bringing up the recycling bins, which we appreciate so much. Yvonne has been such a wonderful sitter for our dog Atlas. Atlas has high anxiety and Yvonne is so great with her. I’m completely at ease knowing she is being well taken care of while I’m away.

Schedule
I am home full-time and have a very flexible schedule. I am available to walk and care for your beloved pet as needed, including days, evenings and weekends.
Prices include all fees.
