After a rewarding career in mental health, I made the decision to take early retirement and pursue a long-standing dream of working with our animal friends. I’ve always had pets as part of my family and have loved and appreciated the many ways in which they have enriched my life. In addition to being a devoted pet parent to two french bulldogs (one of whom is blind), I am committed to on-going learning to enhance my knowledge and skills. I’ve recently completed courses in dog and cat behaviour and animal welfare through University of Edinburgh as well as dog cognition and emotion. I have completed the Fear Free pet sitter certification program as well Pet First Aid/CPR training. I am also well experienced with brachycephalic dog and cat breeds (french and english bulldogs, pugs and Persians). I welcome the opportunity to work with your animal family members and will love them like they are my own.💕🐾

As a fear free certified pet sitter, I utilize a considerate approach in working with our animal companions. I observe and respond to dog and cat body language to inform my interactions with them. I use positive reinforcement techniques to build trust and connection with the pets I work with and love integrating enrichment activities to provide them with physical and mental challenges. Yvonne is the first “outside the family” pet sitter I have ever used. The experience for both of my cats and myself couldn’t have gone any better. I have already booked Yvonne for my next get away. At our “meet and greet”, Yvonne asked very sensible questions to get to know my cats and their habits. She didn’t hesitate to answer any of my questions. She sat on the floor while we talked so the cats could come up to her on their own time. I received lots of pictures while I was away. It was obvious that my cats had a good time.
Absolutely lovely lady who cared for Yodie and was very observant in noticing blood in the stool and promptly took pictures so I would have concrete evidence of what is happening when I see the vet. Thank you.
Yvonne is great! Her communication is stellar, and always updated us with how our dogs did on the walk. One of our dogs can take a while to warm up to strangers and she handled it great with updates on how long it took for him to calm down before getting out for their walk. She always made sure to refill their water and give them time to drink before going back in their crates.
Yvonne took such great care of my cat, Pekoe. She provided a lot of information about her visits to ensure he was doing well while my family was away. She is professional, reliable, kind and clearly an animal lover!!! I hope to use her again in the future.
Yvonne was punctual, professional and clearly loves what she does. She understood cat behaviors and they warmed up to her immediately. She always provided a thorough report and sent lots of pictures. I felt so good knowing the boys were well taken care of and had a chance to play and eat treats while we were away. Will definitely be in touch again for her services soon!

Schedule
I am home full-time and have a very flexible schedule. I am available to walk and care for your beloved pet as needed, including days, evenings and weekends.

- I will request information regarding your dog or cats age and breed; their personality and energy level; their sensitivities and preferences; any medical or dietary needs; typical daily routine and emergency contact information. If brachycephalic breeds (I have two), want to know their tolerance to temperature and exercise.
