Stay At Home Foster Dog Mom 🐾
Hi, I'm Yumi! I've been around dogs for as long as I can remember! My family has had dogs since I was 3 years old, and caring for them has always been a big part of my life. Today, I'm a stay at home dog mom to my sweet 9 yo Mini Golden, so your pup will have plenty of companionship, supervision, and attention throughout the day. More recently, I've had the rewarding experience of fostering rescue dogs and helping them transition into loving forever homes. Fostering has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and creating a safe, calm environment where dogs can feel comfortable and secure. To ensure every dog receives my full attention, I only accept one client's dog (s) at a time. This allows me to provide truly personalized care in a quiet, low-stress home where your dog will be treated like part of the family. Your dog will receive plenty of affection, regular walks and playtime tailored to their energy level, and regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing they're in good hands. I'm happy to follow your dog's usual routine and any special instructions. I'm reliable, patient, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog's unique personality. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, loved, and at home while you're away, giving you complete peace of mind. One of the reasons I enjoy pet sitting is that it helps support my passion for fostering rescue dogs in need. By caring for clients' beloved pets, I'm able to continue helping rescue dogs on their journey to finding forever homes. As a new Rover sitter, I'm currently offering introductory pricing while I build my client base and earn reviews. It's a great opportunity to receive attentive, high-quality care at a discounted rate. While I'm new to Rover, I'm not new to caring for dogs! I bring a lifetime of experience and a genuine love for animals. I'd love the opportunity to care for your furry family member and become someone you can trust whenever you need a helping hand. I look forward to meeting you and your pup!

5 stars, very caring and would definitely recommend!
First overnight boarding for my pup before we leave on vacation, and everything went smoothly as expected! My puppy slept and ate well for her first boarding, and Yumiko as always provided updates throughout the stay. We're beyond grateful we found Yumiko :)

Wonderful host! Took great care of my dog for a week.

Yumiko was really great with my pup! She sent lots of updates and made sure Toph was well taken care of. I also got sick one of the days, and she was super understanding and accommodating. I really appreciated how caring she was with Toph. I’d definitely trust her with my pup again!

When looking for a last minute sitter, Yumiko accommodated us within 30 minutes of sending a request to dropping our dog off. During the few hours Yumiko watched Nala, she took her on a long walk and sent photos/videos. Would highly recommend booking her!! Thank you again 😊

Yumi is absolutely fantastic! This was our second time booking with her, and she continues to be a total lifesaver. Leaving a rescue dog with anyone can be nerve-wracking, but her extensive foster background made all the difference in creating a calm, low-stress environment where my pup even took a long nap! I also completely forgot the collar and leash at drop-off, and Yumi right away helped with a solution. We'll definitely keep coming back!

Schedule
Since I'm a stay at home dog mom, I have the flexibility to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day and adapt to each dog's individual schedule and needs. Whether your pup enjoys an active day or prefers a slower pace, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced yard and nearby green spaces for safe, enjoyable walks. Because I only host one client's dog (s) at a time, your pup will receive my full attention in a calm, low-stress environment without the distractions of multiple unfamiliar dogs. I'll carefully follow your dog's routine, including feeding schedules, medications, crate training, and any special instructions, so they feel comfortable, secure, and at home during their stay.

A typical day
Every dog's day is tailored to their age, personality, and energy level. Active dogs can enjoy neighborhood walks, games of fetch, tug-of-war, and interactive play, while senior or lower energy dogs can look forward to leisurely walks, gentle enrichment activities, cuddle time, and plenty of companionship. Throughout the day, your dog will receive lots of love, one-on-one attention, and supervised play, along with regular photo and video updates so you can see how much fun they're having. My goal is for every dog to feel relaxed, happy, and cared for—as if they're staying with family while you're away.

- To provide the best possible care, I'd love to know: - Your dog's daily routine, including feeding schedule, potty breaks, and exercise needs. - Any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or dietary restrictions. - Their personality and temperament, including any fears, anxieties, or triggers (such as thunderstorms, fireworks, or other dogs). - Whether they're crate trained and where they usually sleep. - Commands they know and any training you're currently working on. - How they interact with other dogs, since I have a friendly Mini Golden at home. - Any behaviors I should be aware of, such as separation anxiety, resource guarding, excessive barking, or escape tendencies. - Their favorite toys, treats, and activities that help them feel comfortable and happy. The more I know about your dog beforehand, the easier it is for me to keep their routine consistent and make their stay as stress free and enjoyable as possible. I want every dog to feel safe, loved, and treated like part of the family.
