Pet care experience

The world will become a better place with more pet

I always think I’m a natural dog sitter and dogs love me. The first time I had a dog was when I was 10 years old in China, his name was Chouchou. At that time my family was not always at home so it’s always me and Chouchou taking care of each other. I walked him every day after I finished school. I fed him, taught him tricks, and he just sat next to me whatever I did. Back then I still visited some other family members in the rural area every winter and summer school break, where almost every family had a Chinese native dog as the house guard. My favourite time was always playing with the dogs from different houses and people in the village were joking that all the dogs in the village won’t bark at all if the thief is following me. Later on, after I went to the boarding school, I didn’t have the opportunity to be this close with dogs and the only joy was to feed the homeless dogs on campus. Day by day the dogs there knew what time I finish class and where my dorm was. In university, I had a boyfriend who had a Labrador called Tietou (literally translated to iron head because he always accidentally hit his head on the desk), who is also in my profile picture. Even though it wasn’t a successful relationship, but my days with the dog were super fun and helped me get through the dark days of Covid. I’ve never seen the dog after I broke up with my ex but I wonder all the time, will the dog also wonder why all of a sudden I’m just disappeared from his life? Would he also miss me? I’ve always wanted a puppy but I’ve been living a nomad life with the intention of finding the perfect place I want to live forever. Recently I moved to Berlin, last December I was dog sitting my friends 40kg Akita called Loki in Dublin for a month. During the month me and my boyfriend walked him almost everyday if it wasn’t raining hard. I also taught him new tricks. I’m not sure how long I will stay here in Berlin so I won’t have my own pet for now. But I know my first winter here (also the coldest winter in the past years) will be less cloudy and gloomy if I have the chance to take care of your puppy :)

Ying looked after my puppy Fibi. It was the first time that a "stranger" looked after Fibi, so it was very exciting for me. But from the beginning Ying made a very responsible impression and asked a lot of questions about Fibi, so that she was prepared as good as possible. She was very caring with Fibi and sent me several photo- and text updates, which was great. I can really recommend her as a pet sitter 😊

Ying did a great job taking care of my mini dachshund. She is a dog-loving person and it shows! She provided updates throughout the day and Halloumi came home very tired - the sign of a great day!

Ying took care of our Akita for two full weeks, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. She is incredibly responsible and kind, and our dog absolutely adores her. Ying strictly followed our feeding and daily routine, made sure he got enough exercise with regular walks, played with him every day, and gave him her full attention. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such good hands. We would highly recommend Ying to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet caregiver.

Ying was great in helping me take care of a big 45kg Akita this winter. She was very caring and even helped the big boy learn some new tricks. She loves dogs (and really most animals) of any size and has a few years of experience with handling them. I would 100% trust Ying with the wellbeing of my pet!

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, as I structure my day around the pets I’m caring for. I make sure feeding times, walks, playtime, and rest are prioritized and never rushed. I’m used to planning my schedule in a way that allows me to be present and attentive, whether that means morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening routines. I spend most of my day at home or working with a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets consistent attention and companionship rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I also build in time for observation and interaction, so I can quickly notice any changes in behavior, mood, or appetite and respond accordingly. Overall, caring for pets is not an add-on to my day, it’s something I consciously plan around and take seriously.

Safety, trust & environment

I care for pets with patience, responsibility, and genuine love. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I always take the time to get to know them before and during the stay. For dogs, I make sure they get enough exercise, fresh air, and attention through regular walks, playtime, and companionship. I follow the owner’s instructions closely when it comes to feeding schedules, portion sizes, training rules, and daily routines, so pets feel safe and comfortable in a familiar structure. I’m very attentive to pets’ behavior and emotions. If a pet feels anxious, shy, or energetic, I adjust my care style accordingly and make sure they feel calm, respected, and secure. I never force interaction and always prioritize the pet’s well-being. Cleanliness and safety are extremely important to me. I keep the living space tidy, make sure food and water bowls are clean, and always check that doors, leashes, and surroundings are safe. I can also provide regular photo and message updates, so owners feel reassured while they’re away. Most importantly, I treat every pet as if they were my own, with kindness, consistency, and care.
