Avoid. I would strongly advise other owners to avoid this sitter. The communication throughout Merlin’s stay was extremely poor, and I had significant concerns about the standard of care and the condition of the home, which I found to be unhygienic. When I arrived at the agreed time to collect my dog, I had to repeatedly hammer on the door before anyone answered. When the door was eventually opened, there was no adult present — only two young children, who appeared to be no more than around 7 years old. I was told through the Rover app that the sitter’s husband had taken my dog for a walk and was “on his way back”. He was not answering the phone, and I was left waiting for over an hour without being able to establish where my dog was or when he would be returned. The situation became serious enough that I contacted the police for advice. I eventually got my dog back, but this was an extremely distressing experience and completely unacceptable when entrusting someone with your pet. Based on my experience, I would not use this sitter again and would recommend other dog owners look elsewhere.

I focus on keeping routines calm and predictable, following owners’ instructions closely so each dog feels safe and settled. For peace of mind, I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your dog is well cared for while you’re away.
