A Cozy Home Away From Home 🐾
Hi! I’m Yajaira (ya-hi-ra) 👋 I’ve grown up surrounded by animals of all kinds—from chickens and ducks to fish, rabbits, birds, cats, and of course dogs. Caring for animals has always been second nature to me, and my home is truly built around pets. I have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, including German Shepherds, Cocker Spaniel mixes, and Shih Tzu mixes. I’ve been training and caring for dogs since I was a teenager, so I’m comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to calm senior pups. Walks, playtime, feedings, and potty breaks are all part of our daily routine. I currently live in Salt Lake City with my rescued Chihuahua Terrier mix, Layla. Over the past year, I’ve helped Layla rebuild trust with humans and other animals, which means I do especially well with rescue dogs, second-homed pups, and dogs who may need a little extra patience and reassurance. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so your pup will never be left alone for long stretches and will get plenty of attention, cuddles, and supervision throughout the day. Dogs free-roam the home and can lounge on multiple cozy dog beds, the couch, or anywhere they feel most comfortable! We love getting outside for daily walks (45 minutes to 1.5 hours, weather-dependent), and my apartment complex has a fenced dog area plus plenty of nearby grassy space. All dogs are always leashed when outside the complex to keep everyone safe. Inside, your pup will have access to enrichment toys and interactive brain games to keep them mentally stimulated, engaged, and happily entertained throughout the day. I’m happy to accommodate crate training if needed and have lots of patience for puppies, seniors, and the occasional accident. My goal is simple: to give your dog a safe, loving, and fun home away from home 🐾💛

Yajaira did such a great job with my nervous puppy. He’s very timid and scared of the world, and she was incredibly patient and thoughtful with him while he adjusted to a new space. She created a calm environment, sent lots of photos, took him on walks, and treated him with so much kindness and care. I truly loved everything about her—and so did Butters. We will definitely return!

Schedule
I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule to make sure your pet gets plenty of attention throughout the day. Daily walks, playtime, meals, and bathroom breaks are all part of our routine, and I can adjust to your pet’s individual schedule to keep their day consistent and stress-free. With me at home, your pup or cat will never feel lonely, and I can provide frequent check-ins, enrichment, and companionship whenever they need it.

I prioritize a safe, trusting, and comfortable environment for every pet in my care. Dogs and cats are always supervised, and all dogs are leashed when outside to ensure their safety. In my home, pets can free-roam and relax on multiple cozy dog beds, the couch, or wherever they feel most comfortable. I provide enrichment toys, interactive games, and mental stimulation to keep them engaged and happy throughout the day. I’m gentle, patient, and attentive with every pet—whether they’re shy, anxious, or energetic—so they feel secure and at ease. My goal is to create a low-stress, loving environment where your furry family member can thrive while you’re away.

A typical day
We love taking pups to local parks like Tanner and Liberty Park, exploring back trails, and hitting nearby hiking spots for some adventure and fresh air. When indoors, we have plenty of interactive toys and activities to keep them mentally stimulated, engaged, and happily entertained throughout the day.
