Pet care experience
Your reliable local pet lover
I have been a pet lover for as long as I can remember and couldn't imagine my life without one. I am the go-to sitter for family and friends who know that their beloved companion is safe in my hands. I have owned and cared for cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, birds, rats, chinchillas, lizards and fish. In the past, I worked as a volunteer at the ASPCA and worked for a doggy day care for a while where I was in charge of washing and drying dogs. In 2018, I started walking and pet sitting through a variety of apps including this one and have doing it ever since! I live an active lifestyle and can keep your dog engaged and mentally stimulated while having fun! Growing up around Rottweilers, Bulldogs and Mastiffs, I am comfortable and familiar with dogs of all breeds, dispositions and sizes. I am familiar with positive reinforcement training techniques and am more than happy to adhere to any training routines that are given.

Our cats seemed very well-fed and cared for when we returned after a 10 day trip! They all have unique personalities that can be finicky, but Yahelia seemed to handle them just fine. The app seems to have issues with photo uploads so sometimes we did not get to see them, but we got otherwise regular updates. The cats were clearly fed watered and cleaned up after so we are happy coming home to happy kitties. Very nice and agreeable. Thanks!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
In my home, dogs would be taken out according to the schedule dictated by the owner. I always make sure the dog has plenty of toys to entertain themselves and I make sure that pooches are mentally stimulated by introducing new and creative brain games. If the dog is particularly high energy, a nice jog in the park or game of tug is always welcome. I provide owner with check ins twice [or more if the client [prefers] daily through whatever channel they are most comfortable with. Fresh water is always readily available in multiple locations of the house and I always carry a portable bowl and water for walks. In my home, dogs are allowed on furniture but understand and respect rules that different from mine. They can expect my full attention as I am a home body.
Pets
A typical day
I love to give pets activities, games and puzzles that will keep them mentally stimulated and happy. I live an active lifestyle and love prospect park so adventuring with a dog there is always welcome. I have toys available at mine and will give them plenty of pets and snuggles.

- It is important to know any allergies, dietary restrictions, medicine thats needed to be administered, training routine, eating/walking schedules and past injuries your pet have. Are they fixed? Are they comfortable around other animals? Are they leash or food aggressive? Any triggers? Do they know basic commands? What is their sleep schedule? Have they underwent any professional training? Do they have separation anxiety? Is this their first time with a sitter?
