EXPERIENCED HOME (+PET) EXCHANGER
(English below) Hallo, Wilma hier (oktober 1966), Nederlands, en ik woon in Krimpen aan den IJssel, in de buurt van Rotterdam. Ik ben een zeer ervaren huizenruiler en heb 14 jaar via uitwisselingen op huizen en huisdieren gepast in - en buiten Europa. Ik weet dus hoe het voelt om dieren bij iemand achter te laten en hoe het is om voor andere dan eigen dieren te zorgen. Sinds 2024 heb ik zelf geen dieren meer. Mijn vaste oppas hond (15 jaar opgepast) en vaste oppas poes (17 jaar opgepast) zijn in 2025 ook overleden. Het is een beetje stil. Via een grote Britse website pas ik momenteel succesvol op honden en katten in het buitenland in ruil voor een verblijf zodat ik kan reizen. Via Rover.com zoek ik honden waarop ik kan passen als ik thuis ben. -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I'm Wilma (october 1966), a very experienced home-exchanger and have looked after homes/pets for 14 years in and outside Europe. I know how it feels to leave your pet(s) behind and how it is to take care of someone else's pets. Since 2024 I no longer have pets of my own. The dog (looked after for 15 yrs) and cat (looked after for 17 yrs) I regularly cared for have also both past away in 2025. At the moment I succesfully look after dogs and cats abroad through a major British website in exchange for stays so I can travel. Through Rover.com I seek dogs I can take care of when I'm at home.

We had a great experience with Wilma and her husband, who took care of our boy for a week. They were very caring and kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, our boy became unwell during his stay but they handled the situation very responsibly, took him to the vet on time and kept us informed throughout. It gave us great peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. Thank you both for taking such good care of our boy and giving him so much love and attention. We would happily recommend Wilma and her husband and would definitely trust them with our boy again!!
Ik ken Wilma al heel lang, en weet niet beter dan dat zij altijd gek is geweest op huisdieren. Zij heeft jaren gepast op de honden en katten van familieleden wanneer deze ivm werk of vakantie de dieren niet mee konden nemen. Al deze dieren waren gek op Wilma en altijd blij haar te zien. Dit wil niet zeggen dat zij hen verwent, hoewel dit ook wel gebeurt, maar dat zij een natuurlijke houding met huisdieren heeft waar deze goed op reageren. Ik zou iedereen die ivm werk of vakantie zijn huisdier niet mee kan nemen aanraden contact op te zoeken met Wilma zodat je zeker weet dat het huisdier uitstekend verzorgd zal worden.
Wilma heeft jaren voor mijn hond en kat gezorgd wanneer ik zelf niet thuis was tijdens vakanties. Allebei waren helemaal gewend aan haar en altijd blij als ze haar zagen. Wanneer ik hun dan weer op kwam halen waren ze zeer relaxed en, hoewel blij mij te zien, wilden zij het liefste blijven.

(English below) Ik ben betrouwbaar, toon verantwoordelijk en degelijk gedrag en respecteer privacy en wensen van eigenaren. Ik ben gezond (vegetarische leefstijl, rook niet, drink geen alcohol, gebruik geen drugs). Ik zorg voor dieren alsof ze van mij zelf zijn: speel met ze, kam ze en knuffel ze. Bij voorkeur neem ik honden overal mee naartoe, ook met het openbaar vervoer. Hij/zijj krijgt alle aandacht, inclusief lange wandelingen, zonder dat ik voortdurend met een mobiele telefoon in de weer ben. +++++++ I'm reliable, show responsible and solid behavior, and respect the privacy and wishes of owners. I'm healthy (vegetarian lifestyle, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol, don't use drugs). I care for animals as if they were my own: play with them, brush them, and cuddle them. Preferably I take dogs everywhere I go, also with public transport. He/she receives all the attention, including long walks, without me spending every minute on a phone. Fenched garden. At a canal.
A typical day
(English below) Ik zal altijd proberen een hond te begrijpen, en hem/haar fysiek en mentaal uit te dagen. Breng favoriete speeltjes, meest gebruikte kammen/borstels en voldoende voer mee zodat het verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk is en ook zo veel mogelijk lijkt op de routine thuis. Of de hond bij me op de bank in de woonkamer mag zitten hangt erg af van de grootte van de hond. Wel heb ik in de serre een extra bank en in de werkkamer een extra plek. +++++++ I will always try to understand a dog, and challenge him/her physically and mentaly. Bring favourite toys, most used cambes and enough pet food so the stay is as comfortable as possible and I can stick to a routine closest to the one at home. If a dog can sit with me on the sofa in the living room depends highly on the size of the dog. I do have an extra sofa in the conservatory and extra space in the room used as an office.

- (English below) Open communicatie vanaf het begin graag. Geen interesse in agressieve honden, honden met ernstig verlatingsangst of honden die een hoog niveau medische zorg nodig hebben. Ik pas niet op honden die zindelijkheidstraining nodig hebben, dag-en-nacht blaffen of zich totaal niet kunnen gedragen (aan de riem). Graag weet ik van tevoren of honden allergisch zijn, goed luisteren, echte ontsnappingsartiesten zijn of kattenjagers zijn zodat ik ze de beste verzorging kan bieden. +++++++ Open communication from the start please. Not interested in aggressive pets, pets with severe separation anxiety, pets that need a high level of medical care. I won't take care of dogs that aren't house-trained, bark day-and-night or totally misbehave (on the lead). I would like to know in advange if dogs have allergies, listen well, are real escape artists, or love to cat hunt so I can take care of them in the best way possible.
