Safety, trust & environment
I will be very attentive to your pets needs during my time with them. Whether they are young, mature, active or low key, social or shy, I'll work to ensure they feel safe and cared for. I have experience caring for quiet and timid animals - my husband refers to me as the pet-whisperer. I will provide your pets with the care and respect they deserve. I do not take dogs to dog parks.
Information William T. would like to know about your pet
I’d like to know any health issues, special needs, medications, restrictions, or behaviors your pet has. What commands and cues does your pet know? - so I can be consistent with your practice. How is your pet with new people? Or if on walks, what kind of situations should be avoided.
A typical day
I will read your pet's behavior and tailor my care to match your pets' energy and comfort levels. I will maintain their regular routine to the best of my ability, work to reinforce any command language they know - and providing the utmost level of care to help you feel comfortable, knowing they are in caring hands. A typical day with a cat will include properly feeding and refilling water bowls/fountains, scooping and tidying the litterbox area, administering any medications if necessary, grooming as needed, and socialization at the discretion of the cat, of course. A typical day with a dog will include feeding and refilling water bowls (as directed), a walk/bathroom break, administering any medications if necessary, grooming as needed, and playtime to match the dog's energy level and personality. I never visit any dog parks.

Experienced care for your pets
Pet care experience
Providing care for your dogs and cats in the Mount Pleasant and Adams Morgan neighborhoods. You may see other dog-walkers out there with multiple dogs. I don't do that. Your dog(s) are the only ones in my care - this ensures they get good attention and are the only focus during the walk. Dogs must be requested under dog walking, not drop-in visits. I love working with animals! I grew up with dogs (large and small) and now am a dog walker for a rescue organization in the area. I also take these rescue animals out on day-long adventures. We are now have 2 young cats at home, but have had cats for the last 27 years, some reaching the grand age of 19 years. Every animal deserves the best care. I will provide your pets with the highest level of care, as if they are my own. I can check in on animals at every life stage: from kitten and puppy through seniors. I can administer transdermal, and topical medication to both cats and dogs. I can use pill pockets, or mix medication in food. I have experience caring for animals with diabetes and arthritis, among other ailments. I am familiar with pets with poor appetites and know how to use to various automated pet feeders. For dogs, I will provide walks, play and other care as needed. I prefer dogs that are spayed/neutered. I recommend a harness for dog walking For cats I will provide engagement, play as well as cleaning litter boxes and checking on food and water as directed. I am currently insured as a sitter with Pet Care Insurance (PCI).

Reviews

William is always amazing. He is caring with our animals and he is an excellent communicator. I appreciate him very much!

My senior cat and I have met dozens of sitters over the years. William is by far the best sitter we’ve ever had! His communication, kind nature and flexibility are just what I need to feel at peace while traveling👏🏻😊❤️

I’ve been so fortunate to find William to help me with my other sitter while I’m away in Alaska on a traveling nursing contract. He has been incredibly detailed, dependable, trustworthy, and loving with my fur Baby. He takes the most amazing photos! Just incredible- I’m saving every single one of them, they’re just absolutely precious!! To be able to trust somebody in your home while you’re away for months at a time is just priceless, but most importantly, while away with a furry family member - has just brought me such immense peace and comfort. My little girl Violet absolutely loves William and took to him immediately! He’s been so patient and helpful as well, especially when there was a mistake on my end with medication dosing. He makes excellent suggestions about her care (he’s so observant) and is a superb communicator as well; so eloquent in his notes to me about his time with my girl! I look forward to them daily! :) Thank you so much William -God bless you for all your help, I’m so grateful that I found you! - Dani and Violet 💜🦄😻

William was so lovely! My cat was in great hands.
