Full-Time Dog Lover | 24/7 Care🐶

Hi there! My name is Will, and I’m a lifelong dog lover with 19 years of experience caring for pups. I’ve previously raised my own Basset Hound from puppyhood and have spent years caring for dogs of all breeds and ages, each with their own routines, quirks, and needs. I’m based in south St. Petersburg, about 10 minutes from the beach and downtown. My home is calm, clean, and dog-friendly, making it a great space for pups to relax, play, and feel at ease. I work full-time from home, which means your dog receives consistent supervision, companionship, and care throughout the day. I keep plenty of toys and treats on hand and always prioritize comfort, routine, and positive attention. I require a meet and greet before booking so everyone feels comfortable and set up for a great stay. During bookings, I send 1–2 daily updates with photos and notes so you always know how your dog is doing. I’m comfortable administering medications, accommodating special diets, and supporting dogs with extra needs. If you have any questions or want to see if we’re a good fit, feel free to reach out. I’d love to make your dog feel right at home!

William is the absolute BEST sitter! He takes great care of my labradoodle and I always know he’s in great hands while I’m out of town. My boy is high energy and needs LOTS of love and he gets everything he needs and more with William! William is always so flexible with our timing and is always willing to accommodate to our needs if plans change. He always updates us with pictures and messages with how our boy is doing. I am so happy I found such a wonderful person that I can trust with my baby!

Our dog Griffin is an older, golden-doodle. 17 years old. William provided the comfort and care w we’re looking for in a provider. He is an excellent communicator… fast responses and considerations. His home is clean and comfortable. We will happily use him again.

Safety, trust & environment

Whether caring for pets in my own home or in a client's home, my approach centers on maintaining a comfortable, secure environment and a consistent routine, tailored to each pet's unique needs and preferences. In My Home: I ensure that my house presents a pet-friendly environment. I maintain a clean, safe space dedicated to pets with comfortable sleeping areas, food and water bowls, and an assortment of toys. Pets are free to roam around most areas of my house under my supervision. Daily activities include scheduled feeding, frequent walks, and playtime, adjusted to each pet's routine. In a Client's Home: When caring for pets in their own home, I respect the pet's established routines to minimize any disruptions. I follow the pet care instructions provided by the owner closely, regarding feeding schedules, walking times, and any special requirements. Just like in my own home, activities will include regular feeding, walks, playtime, and any additional tasks requested by the owner. In case of any emergencies, I would promptly contact the pet owner and follow their instructions. In both scenarios, my focus is on providing attentive and loving care, ensuring the pet feels secure and happy, and keeping the owner updated with regular photos and messages about their pet's activities and well-being.

A typical day

Within the comfort of my home, I engage dogs in physical and mental activities. These include indoor games like fetch or tug-of-war. For quieter pets, gentle play and snuggle time are also part of the routine. Activities are always tailored to each dog's preferences and needs. In addition, there's a trail near my house that is ideal for dog walks as it provides ample shade. Walks and all activities will always be tailored to your dog's preferences, energy level, and comfort.

To provide the best care, I need to know a few things about your dog ahead of time: 1. Any dietary restrictions or allergies. 2. Their daily routine (meal times, walk times, etc.). 3. Their preferred activities and any toys they particularly love. 4. Any medication they take or medical conditions they have. 5. Their behavior around other dogs and people. 6. Any triggers or stressors (e.g., loud noises, certain types of people or dogs, etc.). 7. Emergency contact information and vet's contact details. 8. Any special needs or requests you might have. Understanding these details helps me ensure your dog has a comfortable and enjoyable stay while in my care.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
