I’m Whitney, a student at HCC and a huge animal lover. Back home in Pittsburgh, I have 3 dogs and a cat, and one of the hardest parts about being away at school is honestly how much I miss having my pets around. That’s a huge reason I wanted to start pet sitting. I get to spend time with animals again while also giving someone else peace of mind knowing their pet is being loved and cared for. ☺️ I know pets aren’t just pets; they’re part of your family. I would want someone caring for my own animals to be patient, responsible, gentle, and actually excited to spend time with them, and that’s exactly how I plan to treat yours. I don’t want to just come over, feed your pet, and leave. I want them to actually feel comfortable with me. Whether your pet is super playful and wants to run around, loves long walks, is shy and needs a little extra time to warm up, or would rather spend the whole visit cuddled up on the couch, I’m happy to follow their personality and make the experience as comfortable as possible. I’m also more than happy to send you photos, videos, and updates while you’re away because I know how reassuring it is to actually see that your pet is happy and doing well. You’ll never have to sit there wondering what they’re doing or whether they’re okay. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable leaving your pet with me and for your pet to feel safe, happy, loved, and cared for like they’re one of my own. 🩷 And honestly… since I miss my own pets so much, yours may end up getting a little spoiled with attention. 🤭 Pet Care Experience I’ve been around animals for years and have hands-on experience caring for my own 3 dogs and cat back home in Pittsburgh. Having that many pets definitely teaches you that every animal has their own personality, habits, likes, dislikes, and routine. I’m comfortable with everyday pet care including feeding, refreshing water, walking, playtime, bathroom breaks, cleaning up after pets, giving lots of attention, and keeping up with their normal routine. I understand that some pets are energetic and want to play constantly, while others may be nervous around someone new or just prefer relaxing and getting affection. I’m patient and happy to let your pet warm up to me! I’ll always follow whatever instructions you leave for me because I know how important consistency is, especially when their owner is away. If your pet has a certain feeding time, favorite walking route, favorite toy, bedtime routine, or little habit that makes them comfortable, I want to know about it! More than anything, I’ll make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, supervision, affection, and companionship while they’re with me! 😁

Safety, Trust & Environment 🐾 Your pet’s safety is something I take seriously. Before caring for them, I’ll make sure I know about any medications, allergies, health concerns, triggers, fears, or behaviors I should be aware of so I can care for them properly and avoid anything that might make them stressed or uncomfortable. I’ll always make sure doors and gates are secure, collars and harnesses are fitted properly, and leashes are fully attached before heading outside. I’ll also stay aware of traffic, other animals, and anything around us that could put your pet in an unsafe situation. If your pet stays with me, I do live with three roommates who all love animals and are comfortable having pets around. I’ll make sure everyone respects your pet’s space and any boundaries you give me, and if your pet is shy or needs a quieter environment, I’ll make sure they have the space they need to relax. I’m also careful about things pets could get into around the home, like food, trash, medications, or anything else that could be harmful. Before leaving, I’ll double-check that everything is secure and that your pet is safe and settled. If anything unexpected happens or I notice something concerning, I’ll contact you right away. I’d always rather ask and be extra careful than assume when it comes to someone else’s pet. 🩷

Whitney watched my dogs while I was on vacation on numerous occasions. She is very attentive and loving towards animals. She will devote her time to giving quality care to your pet. Great caregiver, I highly recommend.

Schedule
My Schedule 🐾 I’m currently a student at HCC, so I have a pretty open and flexible schedule! On weekdays, I’m usually available anytime from around 1:30 PM onward, which gives me plenty of time for afternoon walks, drop-ins, feeding, playtime, or just keeping your pet company while you’re away! ☺️ My weekends are even more flexible—I’m available pretty much anytime throughout the day, so I can easily work around your pet’s normal routine and schedule. Whether they need an early walk, some afternoon playtime, dinner and a potty break, or extra company later in the day, I’m happy to help! I know pets are happiest when they can stick to the routine they’re used to, so I’ll always do my best to work around their normal feeding, walking, and potty schedule rather than making them adjust to mine. I’m also happy to discuss specific times with you beforehand so we can figure out what works best for you and your pet. 🩷

- Important to know about your pet ahead of time 🐾 Tell me all the little things that make your pet them! I’d love to know their favorite games, toys, treats, commands they know, funny habits, favorite places to be scratched, and anything they absolutely love or hate. It’s also helpful for me to know how they act around other dogs, cats, strangers, loud noises, or new environments, plus anything I should watch out for. And please tell me about any special comfort items or little quirks they have. If they can’t sleep without a certain blanket or insist that their tennis ball goes everywhere with them, I want to know! The more I know about what makes your pet happy, the more I can make their time with me feel special. 🩷
