I work full-time from home. I am only away usually to run kids to/from school/activities during the week. My dog loves going on car rides so that is always a possibility too. Working from home definitely allows me to spend quality time with our guests. I am also fortunate that my parents live nearby and are always willing to help out so if there is ever a day with an appointment or activity that might take us away for a few hours more than usual, my parents will come hang out, walk, love on them as well. Plus two teenagers at home who are definitely available to help with cuddles, and feedings.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a large yard (though mostly a hill) and comfortable home to host guests. I am capable of distributing medicines to pets when needed. My dog has allergies and requires injections every 12 days. I know that some pets need things to be done a certain way or need a bit more attention for their nerves. I will try to give them a close to their normal routines as I can. We currently have 1 dog and 2 cats, plus a turtle. My kids and I will play and love on your fur babies like they were our own.

Information Whitney D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know what kind of special attention I can give your pup. I will do the best I can to make their adjustment smooth and make them comfortable. Though I am home all day, our schedule/lifestyle may not be appropriate for puppies/potty-training or super hyper pups. Though I am working from home, I cannot accommodate multiple walks a day, etc. Dogs should be able to spend 3+ hours alone without destruction or peeing inside. I have volunteer and family obligations that someone take me away from home. Dogs being dropped off on weekdays will need to be dropped after 8am. I prefer adult dogs and definitely dogs that are ok with cats. Ours will probably hide or be secured while your pup is here, but I need to know if there is a concern around cats. Because of the cats, dogs will need to be able to sleep alone (or in their crate) in my living room without whining or barking for me. I keep our cats in my bedroom at night for their peace. Please also advise on if there is anything I should be aware regarding behaviors around other dogs or kids, especially any protectiveness, snapping, biting or growling.

A typical day

We love to incorporate the dogs into our days - need to drop daughter off at dance - dogs go with us in the car. Walks and some time running around in the yard - check. Cuddles in front of the tv at night - check. I work from home during the day so access for potty breaks is almost immediate.

Pet care experience

I've had pets all of my life. Cats and dogs mostly, but also hamsters, mice, turtles, bearded dragons and even a king snake. My daughters and I joke that we at times have had our own little zoo. I've got experience giving pills to cats and dogs and I have to do injections for my dog every 12 days for her allergies. I work from home which allows me availability to be present with dogs we're watching and to provide time outside and cuddles. My daughters and I would love to love on your fur babies.

Whitney was very communicative and wonderful to work with. She kept me posted with pics and updates of Ginny’s stay. I was a bit nervous about leaving her because of her separation anxiety. Ginny immediately bonded with Whitney and felt right at home. I would highly recommend her to anyone. It’s quite apparent she loves animals and has a kind heart.

Whitney provided a great home away from home for my dog. She was easy to communicate and coordinate with. Although normally anxious, my dog was happy and comfortable in her home and care. We will be using Whitney’s services again.

Coco loves being at Whitney’s! We get regular updates and she takes such good care of our sweet girl. We will definitely keep having her stay here.
