Safety, trust & environment

I am certified in Fear Free/LIMA techniques and have a grasp on positively-reinforced Balance training. I will default to your family’s system to maintain a safe environment for your beloved pets. With your consent, I will leave the house better than I found it; dishes (including water/food bowls) will be washes and the floor swept. We will agree on appropriate times for me to send updates and you will get as many photos as you could possibly want (I have mastered portrait mode on my phone as it relates pet photography. You can ask for previous works.) Thank you for the opportunity to help you optimize your pet’s day. It will be a day full of joy and whimsy!

Information Westley-Morgan T. would like to know about your pet

I want to know what gives your pet “Big Feelings” and how do they appear in the home, the yard and on a walk. I want to know what motivates your pet. Are they driven by physical affection? Food? Praise? I want to know what are “House Rules.” I want to stay as consistent as possible for your furry friend(s) If this means you have to tell me your pet’s whole life story, we can set a time. I will sit and take notes! I also want to know what you miss most about your pet while you are away? Maybe I can catch a quick video to brighten your day.

A typical day

My favorite thing to do with cats and dogs is a Snuffle. Take a designated towel or butcher paper and scrunch it full of treats and put it in some kind of container and let them search. For the dogs, my second favorite game is to test their knowledge with a game of “Simon Says.” Working their minds is just as important as getting their physical energy out. Back when I was working in a behavioral health kennel my typical was: First Potty Break. Breakfast (with a side of whatever the dog wanted to take their meds in.) First play time (we always got more creative than just fetch if the dog was down.) Second potty. Lunch. Nap time; dimmed lights, a kong, and soothing music. Third potty. Second play time and Dinner; maybe create a snuffle box to engage the natural instincts. Last Call Potty. Lights out.

Westley did a great job staying with my dog over this past weekend. He is a great communicator before and during his stay at my home. I hope he is available next time I have to travel.
