I keep things easygoing and relaxed, which most dogs love. 📍 THE WALKS I live within easy walking distance of four great parks: • Waterloo Park (10–15 min) — big lawns, shade, and space to roam • Pease Park (15–20 min) — creek trails and trees, the most beautiful walk around • Republic Square (12 min) — easy downtown green for quick outings • Wooldridge Park (12–15 min) — quiet, historic, and great for calmer pups I'm also a street photographer, so walks with me are slow, intentional, and full of good stops. Pet care fits naturally into just about every part of my day. I work from home full time building my own apparel brand and creating designs, so there’s always someone here — no long stretches alone, no wondering when I’ll be back. My routine is calm and consistent: morning walks, focused work time at home, and plenty of breaks that are a lot more fun with a dog around. Evenings are relaxed — cooking, watching TV, winding down. I’ve found that having a dog with me actually makes my workday better, and I genuinely look forward to the company. Walks are something I do anyway — I’m a street photographer and I take them seriously — so adding your dog to that routine isn’t an adjustment, it’s just more fun.

At my place, I treat every dog like they belong here — because for however long they’re with me, they do. That means full run of the home, couch privileges, and a calm environment with someone always around. I match their energy: if they want to play, we play; if they want to chill on the couch while I work, that’s perfect too. I stick to whatever feeding schedule and diet the owner gives me, and I always have fresh water available. Walks happen at least twice a day, and I take them seriously — we’re hitting real parks, real trails, real time outside. I send photo and video updates throughout the day so owners never have to wonder how their dog is doing. For drop-in visits at a client’s home, I follow the owner’s routine to the letter. I’m in, I’m present, I’m not rushing. I take time to actually be with the dog — play, a walk if that’s part of the plan, a treat if they’ve earned it — and I leave the space exactly as I found it. Every visit gets a report card update through the app.
A typical day
Walks are the main event, and I don’t do boring ones. I’m a street photographer, so I naturally take slow, exploratory walks — lots of good stops, interesting routes, and real time to sniff around and take everything in. We have four great parks within walking distance: Pease Park with its creek trails and tree cover, Waterloo Park for wide open lawns, Wooldridge Park for a quieter historic vibe, and Republic Square for an easy downtown outing. I rotate depending on the dog’s energy and what sounds fun that day. At home, I’m big on quality hang time — fetch in the living room, tug of war, or just curling up together while I work on designs and have something good on TV. I pay attention to what each dog actually enjoys and lean into that rather than forcing activity they’re not feeling. Some dogs want to run and play all day; others want to be close and calm. I’m good with both. And if your dog happens to be photogenic, there’s a solid chance they end up as the subject of some genuinely great photos from our walks — which I always share with the owner.
