Safety, trust & environment

🏠 At your home: When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize keeping everything as familiar and routine as possible. I follow your instructions closely - including regarding the feeding schedules, walk times, medication needs, bedtime routines, and any quirks your pet might have. I make sure they get plenty of affection, playtime, and calm companionship. I also keep your home clean and tidy, ensuring your pet is safe to roam around and explore their usual territory. You’ll receive regular updates with photos so you always know how things are going. I am more than happy to follow any training and behavioural requirements based on your instructions, including the use of tools and specific collars/leads/etc. before heading out for a walk with your pet (if requested). 🌳 In my home: When pets stay with me, they have access to a spacious, clean and safe environment for them to thrive in. Prior to and following your pet's arrival, I prepare the space to ensure a calm and pet-friendly environment with room to play, nap, and relax. I only accept pets from the same household to ensure everyone gets along well and receives personal attention and care. I keep feeding and walking schedules consistent with what your pet is used to and accommodate any special needs they may have, whether very frequent potty needs or administering medication. Whether it’s a cozy spot on the couch or a quiet room for downtime, I make sure your pet feels right at home. I am also happy to speak about arranging a crate for your pet to relax in if appropriate due to their needs.

Information Weronika D. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for any pet, I'd like to know as much as possible to ensure their comfort, safety, and happiness. Important things to know include: • Daily routine (feeding, walk times, sleep schedule) • Medical needs (allergies, medications, past injuries, etc.) • Behavioural traits (shy, reactive, anxious, etc.) • How they typically react around strangers, children, or other animals • Any training cues or commands they know - and anything you'd like me to work on with them • Favourite toys, treats, or games, as well as things they dislike (in particular when it comes to stimuli or touch) • Crate use or house rules (furniture, beds/couch/rooms off-limits, etc.) • Emergency vet contact and your preferred vet if needed • Any recent changes (moves, surgeries, diet changes, etc.) The more I know, the better I can tailor care to your pet’s unique needs. My goal is always to create a safe, stress-free experience for them - and peace of mind for you.

A typical day

I love keeping pets mentally and physically engaged with fun, enriching activities tailored to their age, energy level, and personality. For dogs, this can include long neighbourhood walks, park visits, games of fetch, tug-of-war, or scent-based games like “find the treat.” For cats, I offer interactive play with toys like feather wands, laser pointers, or puzzle feeders - whatever they enjoy most. If your pet enjoys training, I can incorporate short, positive-reinforcement-based sessions into our routine. I’m happy to help with training both basic and more advanced commands, as well as support with socialisation, lead walking, and reducing reactivity or anxiety in different circumstances (if applicable). For puppies or younger dogs, I can also work on crate comfort, name recall, or impulse control games like “wait” at the door or food bowl. Mental stimulation is just as important as exercise, so I use an evidence-based approached to training, relying on increasing food drive, reinforcing name recall, ensuring the pet is calm and relaxed in various arousal-inducing circumstances - such as in the presence of other dogs during a walk. My goal is to make sure your pet is not just cared for, but genuinely happy, stimulated, and relaxed while you’re away.

🔖 Full Enhanced DBS Certificate, June 2025 🐕❤️ Full Insurance for Pet Care Services, Present ❶ About Me Hi! I'm Weronika, a highly reliable and knowledgeable Pet Sitter and Dog Walker with over 20 years of hands-on experience looking after animals, both professionally and personally. As a deeply caring and empathic person, I’m also a current Graduate Entry Medicine student. My lifelong passion for animals began at age 5, when my family first started providing temporary, emergency home care for rescue dogs. We cared for pets in severe physical and emotional distress, ranging in size from tiny Terriers to remarkable Caucasian Shepherds. This experience further deepened my passion for and commitment to caring for animals, teaching me patience, empathy, and expert handling. I’ve since worked with pets of all temperaments, including reactive dogs, and truly believe that any animal can thrive when their needs are properly understood and met. I’m comfortable and confident caring for pets of all kinds and sizes. As a former owner of eight dogs, I know how much of a difference trusted support can make - whether you need a reliable walker, an expert pet sitter during long-term travel, or attentive in-home care whilst you're at work. Even as I'm starting my training to become a doctor, I remain committed to offering compassionate, evidence-based care to all pets. I continuously engage in further CPD-accredited training in animal behaviour and care to ensure my services stay effective and informed with the current specialist knowledge. ❷ Additional Services Offered • Dog Training & Behavioural Support - Please contact me to discuss → currently gathering funds for a Professional Qualification as a Dog Trainer; I am attending CPD-accredited courses on the subject in the meantime -- I'm more than happy to use my current expertise to help with training your dog or any behavioural difficulties. 💡 Travel costs vary based on distance - I often walk to reduce these costs and am happy to discuss a fair total based on your location. 🦮 To ensure the safety and my undivided attention to all pets staying at my home, I accept boarding requests for multiple pets from the same household only. ❸ Education & Professional Qualifications ✔︎ Higher Education: • BA Criminology (2021) • MSc Clinical Mental Health Sciences (2022) • MSc Psychology (Conversion, 2023) • BSMS Medicine (2025 - Ongoing) ✔︎ Pet First Aid & Safety: • Pet First Aid and CPR (2025, CPD Accredited) • Pet First Aid for Bleeding & Choking (2025) • Common Household Poisons for Pets (2024) • Health and Safety During Dog Walks (2024) ✔︎ Behaviour & Training: • Dog Health: Dog Breeds and Basic Anatomy (2025, CPD Accredited) • Dog Training Essentials (2025, CPD Accredited) 📚 Current Studies: • Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour & Welfare - AIM Qualification • Diploma in Veterinary Medicine (CPD Accredited) ✔︎ I have experience in caring for: • Dogs (Small, Medium, Large, Very Large Breed) • Cats • Birds (Cockatoo) • Fish (Aquariums/Tanks of various sizes) • Reptiles (Turtle, Chameleon, Bearded Dragon, Gecko) • Small Pets (Hamster, Gerbil, Mouse, Rat, Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Chinchilla) • Other (Tarantula, Phasmatodea aka Stick Insects, Phylliidae aka Leaf Insects)

Digby was very excited to go back and see Weronika after his first introductory meeting. He had a 1 night stay during which Weronika took him out on several long walks and played his favourite game of hide and seek. We received regular updates and photos of the amazing time he was having. We would definitely recommend Weronika. Digby is already looking forward to seeing her again.

Weronika has totally given me confidence to leave my precious baby for the night. We initially did a trial run ahead of a longer stay we have booked. I feel so comfortable leaving my dog now, she has made him feel so special and given him one to one care with cuddles, walks and attention, home from home treatment. Thank you for restoring my faith in the ability to feel comfortable in leaving him and allowing us to have some time away. We have more dates booked in, woody has really enjoyed his stay, I would recommend 💯
