Pet care experience

Dog trainer and canine professional

I am a CPDT-KA certified dog trainer. I have almost 10 years of dog handling experience. I have also completed an extensive course in animal first aid. Dogs in my care will always be my number one priority. Their physical and mental well-being and happiness are what I strive for. I work with dogs professionally as a Trainer and a Handler and also volunteer with a local animal rescue organization. I avidly attend dog training seminars and workshops to build my toolbox of knowledge and skills. I am working towards getting further educated on subjects such as canine nutritional and canine enrichement to eventually use these knowledge to help extend the life-span and improve the mental health of dogs. Dogs welcomed in my home will experience a calm and low stress environment. During their stay with me, I will treat your pups as I would one of my own. A meet and greet is required for first time boarders. I have two fenced yards. One smaller area for my more shy and anxious dogs and a large area (approximately 9000 square ft) for the more exuberant dogs. New dogs will go out into any yard on a long line the first few times until I'm confident that the dog has decent recall. Dogs will never be off leash outside securely fenced areas. Dogs will not be left alone with non same household dogs unsupervised. All dogs will be fed separately to mitigate any chances of a fight. Dogs will always be supervised when outdoors. I will always go with them outside, rain or shine. Any treats or chews that did not come with a dog would be run by the owner for permission prior to being given. For dog walking and drop in visits, I always schedule a meet and greet prior to booking with a client. I like to get acquainted with the pet and the owners and get a lay of the land so I can take any precautionary measures to ensure that I minimize escapes and keep both the dog and myself safe. Dogs are never off leash accept for in secured areas approved by the owner. Please describe any behaviors that may be of concern, so walks can be adapted to create the most comfortable and successful experience for your dog. A meet and greet is a must prior to booking to ensure that all pups involved are comfortable and the owner gets a peace of mind knowing with whom their dog will be staying and where.

Drop-In Visits • Feb 19, 2025

Me and my kids and my dog Coco can't thank Wendy enough to visit our home and hand hold us on recall, least waking and stay commands . She would follow up with detailed notes post the session so that we could practice at home . she also was very helpful with training aids & tools she brought and letting us use it . She is very patient and doesn't rush and very committed and I will recommend setting up a few sessions with her if your pup is needing training . Thank you Wendy !

Wendy was awesome. I worked remotely with her to help my mom have someone walk her dogs while my dad is traveling. She was patient, thorough and was considerate of the dogma needs! My mom felt immediately comfortable with Wendy and I got regular updates from her and Wendy before and after walks! Thanks, Wendy!

Wendy is a dog whisperer and a thorough professional. She ensured that not only our dog but her own dog would adjust to Coco . During the stay she took detailed notes and gave daily pics and vids of Coco's day. she has a nice setting with a smaller backyard for shy dogs and a larger backyard for larger dogs ...both of which Coco availed . She was able to take Coco out on walks so as to beat the scorching heat and also kept me updated on her preparations for keeping dogs safe during July 4th weekend . we are also thankful she was knowledgeable on treating Coco for some skin inflammation which healed in a few days . she also gave us many training. tis for keeping Coco trained and sociable . Will come back to Wendy again .

I ask that all dogs have a meet and greet prior to boarding, especially on extended stays. Your dog's health, safety and comfort is very important to me. Your dog should be dog friendly (especially towards small dogs) and kid friendly and crate trained. Your dog must be current on flea and tick medication. Proof of negative fecal (including Giardia Antigen Test--ELISA) within the last 6 months and up to date vaccinations (Bordetella within the last 6 months) must be provided prior to boarding with me. Your dog MUST be able to co-exist with my dog and your pup must be to keep calm while I am away with my outside clients. My sister and brother in law work from home so they will require a guest that is able to stay quiet -- alerting to occasional strangers is okay. Behaviors resembling separation anxiety is not something I am able to take on at my home at the moment. Please let me know prior if your dog has any reactivity on leash, barrier aggression, or resource guarding.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
