Reliable Stay At Home Mom
Pet care experience
I’ve been dog sitting on Rover since 2012. I dog sit year round. I haven’t canceled any confirmed bookings. I can host up to 4 dogs at a time. I only watch small/small medium sized dogs that are under 35 pounds! All our doggie clients sleep in the living room area where its' gated and secured. We can provide dog beds and kennels if needed. We have a spacious, fully fenced backyard where your dog will have full supervision whenever my family or I are outside. We also go on short walks throughout the day (3-4x) and sometimes long walks too. We live in a house in Issaquah WA on Squak Mountain (5 MINs from DOWNTOWN OLD ISSAQUAH). It’s very quiet and peaceful with lots of grassy areas and trees for the dogs to sniff around. I have a 17 pounds Maltese Poodle named Teddy. We adopted him when he was 1-2 years old. He is about 12-14 years old and likes other dogs and used to play with them but now he just likes to sleep a lot. We trained him very well to listen to our commands. My husband (also a dog lover) is available to help me (especially with dog walking) with providing your dog the best care and stay that they deserve. My son who is 8, loves dogs too and is very gentle with them. Why do I love dog sitting? Love at first sight! Ever since my younger brother brought home his first pet dog named Chloe (a corgi), it was just love at first sight. Chloe was very lay back, attention seeking, great friend, and knew when great food is cooking when she can smell it. I could always count on her to make me smile and laugh. Ever since meeting Chloe, I have adopted a dog of my own and enjoy caring for other doggies. They make our lives happier and lovelier. My experience administering medication: Yes, we can administer oral or topical medication to your dog. Please provide administration of medicine information in your request.
Reviews
Wendy and James came through last minute for us and took our dog overnight. They take such good care of him. Our pup just loves them and he gets to play with dogs and gets lots of walk. I always feel secure that he is is a safe and happy environment. Takes the worry out of going places.
Great caretakers ! Bingo made friends there too. Will definitely go back again in the future.
We have used Wendy and her family several times when going out of town, and our dog and we have been happy. Most recently I was out of town and due to aircraft problems I had to stay out of town longer than I had expected. They were very flexible in changing the booking and since I had only left just enough food for the scheduled stay they went to the pet store and picked up another bag of food for her! They went above and beyond! I highly recommend Wendy and her family.
Another five star visit for Skipper!! He always comes home a little happier and with more energy! Thank you Wendy!!

Safety is key when your dog is in my care. My house has a lot of room for your doggie to run around and play. I have AC for those hot summer days. I have filtered water always available. Each dog eats in the gated kitchen alone from other dogs so there won’t be any stealing food or fighting over food. My place is kept very clean. I vacuum at least once or twice a day. The living room/kitchen/dining area is non carpeted and gated from the rest of the house so I can keep an eye on their safety and not have them wander off into other areas of the house unattended. I also have a fully fenced backyard where the dogs have a blast playing, exploring and running around and always supervised. Your dog is welcome to roam around the yard supervised as long as you are okay with it. I know some owners rather not have their dogs go out to any yard at all or prefer to have them leased whenever they are outside, and I will respect that. Just specify your preference.

Information Wendy L. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know if he/she likes young kids as I have a 8 year old, likes other dogs, is potty trained, what is his/her personality, energy level, any aggressiveness towards other types of dogs or people, any sensitivities to food or other stimuli. I'll only watch small/small medium size dogs since my dog Teddy gets stressed out when around larger dogs. I can take up to 4 dogs at once.
A typical day
I'll take the dogs out first thing in the morning, then around noon, afternoon and evening. Sometimes more often as needed. My neighborhood is very beautiful to walk around, plenty of grass, and tall trees for your dog to enjoy smelling. If you permit we can also go on hikes when it is warm. They are always leased when outdoors except when they are in the back yard or at a doggie park. Indoors they are free to roam in the spacious living room and kitchen areas where we can keep an eye on them. We have baby gates to keep them from the other areas of the house and from jetting out the front door. We have a variety of dog toys for your dog to play with, a big long sofa to lounge and sleep on, and plenty of human interactions for pets, tummy rubs and fetch. Your dog can sleep on his/her own dog bed or crate if he or she is used to that or I can provide a dog bed or crate. Your dog will typically stay in the living room.
