Availability
I work full time for a company where I have a lot of autonomy, flexibility, and the ability to work from home. I am usually up before dawn and off work by 3pm so I have plenty of time and flexibility for other's pets.

Safety, trust & environment
I own my home, it is small but is set up so that my cats have their own space to get away from the dog. I have a large fenced yard, but the fence is short and not suitable for jumpers. I have extra space where a kennel or 2 can be set up or a stressed cat can take refuge.

Information Wendy K. would like to know about your pet
It's important to know the strengths and weaknesses of each pet. Afraid of a certain gender, a runner, an escape artist. As well as triggers like loud noises, fireworks, etc. Please provide all pertinent medical history and medical emergency information. Please understand that this is a job. I love your pets, but it is not the only one I am taking care of today. I may not be there right at the time you scheduled. I prioritize pets on medications and sometimes it sets off my schedule. I may be a bit early or a bit late. If you need a very specific time, please communicate that.
A typical day
I have found that fetch can be some of the best exercise. But living in Colorado can limit the outdoor activities during certain times of the year. It's important to tailor the type of exercise to the type of breed, time of day, and time of year. I currently have a golden retriever, she's a 45 pound runt. But overheating is a risk for any dog. So we have to play fetch and walk in the morning during most of June, all of July, and at least half of August. And the rest of the day is limiting play time outside and focusing on how to stay active inside. The rest of the year we focus on balancing our fetch and walk sessions with lots of cuddles, affection, and training.

Pet care experience
I spent the first 15 years of my adult life as a veterinary technician, mostly in emergency and critical care. I have raised many bottle babies, fostered, and even treated patients in my home. I have been out of vet med for some time but have continued to care for my own pets, foster, and petsit. I even have 1 petsit "fail", when covid hit and the cat's owners decided not to come back to the country, we welcomed her with open arms into our home.
