Safety, trust & environment
I’ve read some horror stories about overnight sitters, as I’m sure you have. If I am house-sitting for you, I will be staying overnight in your home, so your pet will be in its usual environment. If you choose daycare or boarding with me, I will be staying overnight with your pet in a secure, cozy apartment with a fenced-in backyard (my own dog and cats won’t be present). I don’t walk dogs off leash and I don’t open windows for the safety of small dogs and cats. If your animal has any symptoms of illness, you’ll be advised immediately. If it’s hot out, I will ask that we run the A/C for the health of your pet. The well-being of your pet is as important to me as the well-being of my own pets.

Information Wendy B. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog has any health or other issues that affect their walking. (It doesn’t have to be physical: for instance, the first time a new person walks my dog Edward, he always picks a time to lie down on the sidewalk and refuse to move!) I have significant experience with dogs that aren’t friendly with other dogs, so that doesn’t bother me as long as there is no bite history. Please note that for the safety of your dog during walks, I usually recommend the use of a harness rather than a collar. I also recommend a regular leash rather than a retractable one.
A typical day
Every dog has different entertainment and exercise needs. I have walked very senior dogs that need to ride in a wagon to the park, and I follow their lead on how long we stay. My Pekingese thinks a walk around the block is plenty of exercise. But if a dog is more athletic and has energy to burn, I highly recommend my small, home-style daycare. The same goes for cats: I adapt to their purrsonalities. We can play, cuddle, or just sit quietly together. One thing I avoid with dogs is off-leash dog parks/runs - I think those are too risky for many dogs. I also don’t do group walks of dogs from multiple households. I believe a walker’s attention should be 100% on one client’s dogs.

Pet care experience
Whether you require daycare, boarding, house-sitting, or occasional drop-in visits/walks, you can count on me to treat your pet like a precious, irreplaceable gem! I’m the pawrent of a Pekingese dog, two Exotic Shorthair cats, and a Persian cat. I am also a foster meowmie for other kitties. I have experience with senior and special-needs pets, including as a volunteer dog walker for PAWS NY, an organization that helps people in need keep their pets in their lives. I will send you lots of photos and videos so you can be fully informed about the well-being of your pet/s.

Reviews

Wendy took great care of our kittens during drop-in visits for a week-long trip. We booked towards the last minute, and her quick communication and flexibility helped us lock things down with zero worry and stress.

Wendy is incredible! She is responsive, reliable, and sends great pictures and updates. You can tell Wendy really cares about all animals and treats them as her own. I felt so comforted knowing my cat was in good hands. Will be booking her again!!!

Wendy was very responsive and was able to help us out last minute on a holiday. She asked good questions in the lead up to walking Charlie and I felt confident leaving him in her care. From the photos it looks like he warmed up to her quickly, despite him typically not liking strangers.

As always, excellent. Cannot think of anyone else who does a better job with my cat. So grateful.
