It’s a Pup’s World After All 🐶

We are looking forward to having your pup stay with us. Our little 7lb Yorkie, "Poppy", turned 2 in Oct 24. We had paused our doggie sitting for a period in 2024 while training Poppy. We have had a dog or 2 in our house for many years. We lost our previous Yorkie, "Pixie", in Oct’23. She was diagnosed with Addisons disease when she was young, & lived 13yrs. Pixies also had a # of food allergies, so I made my own dog food, which I continue to do for Poppy. We are well versed in administering meds (can do some injections if dog is good), & watching diets. We have lots of love to give our furry guests. Both my university aged daughters have a # of years experience with farm, zoo & wildlife animals besides domestic house pets. We have looked after a cat named Boo, & a few other dogs over the years. Poppy has made a number of furry friends in her 1st year. (Photos: in addition to Poppy, Chickpea(rabbit), Pixie - Yorkie 13yrs, Madeline - Cockpoo 14yrs, Fleur - grey Holland Lop). We live in a dog friendly neighbourhood, & we have a large fenced in backyard. All pets are allowed on our furniture & beds, if it is ok with their parents. We don’t mind looking after seniors or pups over 1 year old. We will only care for small toy sized dogs (10 lbs or less). Your dog must get along with small animals, & other dogs. Both Poppy is very friendly with humans & other animals.

Thanks again Wendy for taking such great care of Belle while we were away. The pictures and videos warmed our hearts and made us feel close even though we were on the other side of the country. Having Poppy to hang out with was a nice experience for Belle.

I was amazed at how Wendy, Ashley and Christine provided a loving and safe home for my dog Rolla. Wendy sent us daily picture updates of our dog. I am very pleased to know my dog was happy and safe. I will recommend her home and skills to give your pet a warm and loving home away from home.

I am honoured to write this testimonial for Wendy, Christine & Ashley. I got to know these girls as they were my clients through Rover. In caring for their little Yorkie, Pixie, I learned what a loving and dedicated pet family they are! I’ve been in their gorgeous home and hands down can attest to how spoiled your pooch will be in their care! They are experienced with administering oral medication (life-saving) as well as doling out copious amounts of snuggles. Congratulations W, C & A for joining Rover and all the best! 🐶♥️🐶♥️🐶 ~ Lisa & Trey

Wendy has been our cat sitter for about three years. She is very responsible and thorough in her work, even creating a checkbox of things that our cat needed for her stay to be as comfortable as possible. She also made sure our belongings were clean and cat was ready when they were to be picked up. Wendy is an exceptional communicator as she often kept us updated with photos and personal messages. Our cat always clearly felt at home there and was very relaxed and content when we picked her up. I would highly recommend Wendy as a pet sitter!

Wendy and her family have taken care of my little dog "Mouse" a couple of times in the past, and she's always been so amazing with him. I trust her more than anyone and I got him back very well-loved both times :)

Schedule

I work mostly from home, & I still have 2 daughters who live at home too. So there is usually someone home to let pups outside or to go for a walk. Our routine has always included a dog, as they are a family member, & we will do the same for your dog. Our schedule was bkfst , lunch cookies, dinner, then bedtime for Poppy. During the summer, we would take our Yorkie on bike rides besides going for walks. We will ask you for your dog’s routine, & diet so we can make them the most comfortable.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a large fenced in yard, which is shoveled in the winter. We have motion sensor lights in our backyard, so we can watch them in the dark. Your dog will be given potty breaks every 2-4 hours. Our walks will usually happen during the daytime, when the weather is good. We request all dogs be spayed or neutered, and not in heat. We only take small 10 lb or under dogs. The dogs must well socialized & behaved. There are no children in our house. We can crate your dog if you wish, otherwise they are free to roam the house & sleep in one of the many dog beds we have tucked here & there. Please let us know if your dog has any allergies. If possible, we would like to see that vaccines are up to date as we maybe hosting more than one dog at a time in our home. This protects all dogs.

Pets

A typical day

Your pup will be considered a member of the family while staying with us. They will be allowed into the backyard as often as they like. We have a number of birds, squirrels & chipmunks they can watch. We have enrichment toys & feeders they can try. We will have plenty of play time, & walks, along with lots of cuddles. I know some older dogs just like to watch out the window or chill on the couch & that is ok here too. We have found that the dogs & cat that we have looked after in the past, + our Yorkie enjoyed the extra companionship of other pets in the house.
