Hey guys! My name is Wataru but my American name is John, you can call me by either name. I’m an aspiring environmental economist who loves animals looking to help out other people who love animals. I’ve had cats all my life, but took care of my neighbors’ large dog over past summers. I look forward to feeding your cat or dog, and if you want, I can play with them for a short while so they don’t get too lonely. I’ll be open to any suggestions regarding walking the dog (or cat!), their diet, or anything regarding their current training. If there are other pets, such as reptiles or an aquarium, I’d be interested to help as well. I have no limitations for the cat or dog, so come big or small, barky or shy, I will find a way to make your animal comfortable.

I have two indoor cats. The younger cat is actually quite a bully with the older cat, so during feeding time I will separate him into his own room until the older cat has finished eating. I feed my cats half canned wet food, and half dry food. They have a cat water fountain which filters the water, but even with the filter I will empty the water and refill it once a week, or if I notice there is any hair in it.

Wataru was amazing! He was attentive to my cat and thoroughly saw to all of his needs, including oral medication. On top of that he really endeavored to provide my cat with stimulation and affection. Wataru was responsive throughout the duration of our trip and provided regular updates, which we appreciated. He also showed incredible kindness by going out of his way to see to misc. things around our home so that it would be pleasant for us to return to. We are so appreciative of everything!
Wataru did a good job with a very shy kitty! He let me know when Figs was or wasn't eating, and spent some extra time with my boy to try and get him to come out from under the bed. No luck this weekend, but maybe next time!
Wataru is great with my elderly cat. He's very responsive to emails and very considerate (like sending information/pictures). I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good catsitter!
Wataru did a great job with pet sitting my cat. He was very caring and flexible. We were able to relax on our trip knowing Wataru was looking after Kevin Bacon our cat. Highly recommended!
Wataru took excellent care of Rory and sent regular updates with pictures. He went out of his way to spend some quality time with my cat besides just feeding etc. Definitely recommend even for long trips. Thanks Wataru!
Wataru was wonderful. It was a long stay (with it being the holidays to boot!) with my aging dog. Probably not the most fun. He handled it with so much professionalism! I was put at ease. I really did not want to leave my aging gal, but I felt so much better about it because of Wataru’s care. Even with two cats in the mix! You’ll be in good hands with Wataru! Oh and the house was left spotless!

Schedule
I mainly work from home and will most likely visit before work, during lunch, or in the evening. I am currently quite flexible except for weekdays between 4p-6p where I will be picking up my child from daycare.

- I will always ask what your daily routine with the dog is, and if there are any medical conditions or medication that I need to be aware of. I will definitely ask for specifics, such as what route you may take, or if there are any areas to be cautious about (maybe a house with a dog in the yard that agitates your dog?) I would also like to know general house rules, especially with shoes or washing the dogs feet.
