My name is Amber, I am absolutely thrilled to offer my services as a pet sitter. I’ve always been an animal lover, and spending time with pets brings me so much joy. Growing up, I was surrounded by dogs, cats, even hamster & gecko, so I’ve learned how to care for a variety of furry friends. Whether it’s going on walks, playing, or just being there for some good cuddles, I truly enjoy every moment spent with animals. My motivation to become a pet sitter comes from my deep love for pets and the desire to help busy pet owners feel at ease knowing their fur babies are in good hands. I understand that every pet is unique, with their own personalities and needs, and I’m dedicated to giving them the love and attention they deserve. I’ve had previous experience pet sitting for friends and family, and I know how important it is to follow specific routines and care instructions. I do require that all pets I take in are vaccinated, just to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone. Knowing their feeding schedule, walk times, and sleep habits helps me keep things consistent and stress-free for them. Personality and Behavior: Is your pet shy, energetic, or somewhere in between? Do they have any quirks or behaviors I should be aware of, like anxiety triggers or favorite hiding spots? Understanding their personality helps me tailor my care to their needs. Health and Medical Needs: Does your pet have any health issues, allergies, or special dietary requirements? If they need medication, I’ll need to know the dosage and schedule. It’s also helpful to know about any recent vet visits or ongoing treatments. Socialization: How does your pet get along with other animals or strangers? This is especially important if we might encounter other pets or people during walks or playtime. Likes and Dislikes: Does your pet have favorite toys, activities, or treats? Are there things they don’t like, such as certain noises, foods, or grooming tasks? This helps me keep them happy and avoid any unnecessary stress. Emergency Contacts: It’s important to have your vet’s contact information and any emergency contacts on hand, just in case. By getting to know all these details ahead of time, I can make sure your pet has a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience while you’re away!
A typical day
For Dogs: I’m all about keeping them active and entertained. We’ll go on regular walks, tailored to their energy level, so they get plenty of exercise and fresh air. If there’s a safe space, like a fenced yard or dog park, we’ll play fetch, tug-of-war, or have a good run around. I also enjoy teaching dogs new tricks or practicing commands they already know—it’s a fun way to keep their minds sharp and bond with them. For quieter times, we’ll have cuddle sessions, and I’ll give them lots of attention and belly rubs. For Cats: With cats, I focus on a mix of play and relaxation. I love engaging them with interactive toys like feather wands, laser pointers, or even a good old-fashioned ball of yarn to satisfy their hunting instincts. For those who enjoy it, I’ll set up some fun obstacle courses or hide treats around the house for them to find. Of course, if your cat is more of a lounge-around type, I’m happy to let them curl up next to me while I give them gentle pets or brush their fur—whatever makes them purr!
