Many years ago I used to take care of my neighbors' golden retriever. This led to dog-sitting at my house, house-sitting, cat-sitting, plenty of dog walking, as well as some hiking with dogs. Even now, golden retrievers are one of my favorite breeds.

Wade did an amazing job watching over our household for the week. Absolutely would recommend and have him back again. Its hard finding someone you can trust to care for your babies and home. Wade helped so much by sending updates and we were actually able to enjoy going away with the family.

Schedule
Whenever I have a Rover booking I try to spend as much time with the dog as possible. For short stays (1-4 days) I usually don't have to leave the dog home alone at all. For longer stays I try to minimize time away and when I am out it's typically very brief - running a couple of errands, grocery store, etc.

My house has a large, well maintained yard with plenty of room for dogs to play and "do their business". My yard isn't fenced, so I'll keep dogs on a leash at all times when outside. If your dog likes hiking I'm an avid hiker and have found that hiking always goes better with dogs!
A typical day
I love to hike and am fortunate to have plenty of great trails nearby. There's a nature reserve a few miles away and the Laurel Highlands Trail is about 15 miles from my house. Closer to home, Somerset is a very walkable community and there's a short trail to a creek in my yard.
