We both wake up at around 6 am and then work outside of the house from about 8-3pm daily. We are both homebodies during the week, and enjoy the outdoors and having friends and family on the weekends.

Safety, trust & environment
We both wake up at around 6 am and then work outside of the house from about 8-3pm daily. We cannot promise a break during the day, but we do sometimes get home early. Please keep this in mind when booking! We allow dogs on the furniture and sleep with them as long as they do not become possessive. We do not feed table scraps and will only feed what you bring them out of concern for your dog’s safety. Let us know any of your house rules and we will do our best to follow them! We provide doggie bags, food and water bowls, and an extra bed, if needed.

Information Virginia S. would like to know about your pet
We do not keep the house “dog proofed” because our dog is an elderly, low energy lady that doesn’t get into stuff. Please let us know if your dog will get into things so we can make adjustments, if needed.
A typical day
We live in a small cottage in a neighborhood where lots of people know each other. We have a fenced-in front and backyard full of wildlife. We spend a lot of time in our yard when the weather is nice and relax at home in the evenings. Sofia doesn’t play with toys, but we keep a couple toys in a basket for our playful doggie guests. She will sometimes play outside with dogs she is familiar with or trusts. If your dog is up to it, we can take it on long walks or runs on the trail nearby.

Senior dogs are our specialty!
Pet care experience
We have been pet sitting on Rover for 5+ years and have become specialized in taking care of your senior sweetheart! Although we love all dogs, we are most experienced in those that are puppies at heart or old-timers all the way through. Our own senior dog, Sofia, is a trained and certified therapy dog. We are a perfect fit for dogs that need a calm and predictable environment but still enjoy the company of people and another dog to nap with. We have a fenced in front and backyard which is ideal for pets that just want to roam freely, people watch and sniff the air. We also have very safe neighborhood with long paths to walk, if your dog is up to it! Either way, you can expect lots of pictures and videos. 😊
Reviews

Finding experienced care for your senior dog can be quite nerve wracking but I fully trust Virginia. She provides excellent care, great updates and is so graciously flexible

Virginia took great care of Maeve and was very attentive to her needs. Maeve is anxious around new people, and Virginia took it at Maeve’s pace and Maeve opened up within a day!

Virginia and her family including the lovely Sofia pet host are amazing. We have used her for years and frankly don’t want to write this review for fear that Virginia gets too busy!

This was my first time having to board my dog so safe to say i was a little nervous but during our meet and greet Virginia made me and Rudy feel so welcomed and eased any of my fears. During Rudy’s stay she provided multiple updates and pictures and videos and I could tell he truly enjoyed his time and was welcomed as her own. I would definitely book again in the future.
