Virginia can care for
Availability
I am currently unemployed (who in DC isn't?!) and have all the time in the world to care for your beloved furry friend. I travel from time to time but when I'm home in DC I've got nothing keeping me from watching your pet and giving it the love and care it deserves.

I love to walk and if I have a dog with me, all the better. I'm used to everything from small, aging dogs that take an hour to get around two blocks, to large dogs that need a mile (or a few!) to get their exercise. I've walked many dogs with different levels of training and would make sure to get to know: do you give them treats and if so what kind? can they play with other dogs? do I need to keep them away from strangers, squirrels, etc? and whatever else you want for your dog! I've dog, cat, and house sat for many people and always treat a home with privacy and respect, and try to leave it cleaner than when I got there!
Information Virginia K. would like to know about your pet
I truly don't have a preference for breeds, but ideally you are a pet parent who is dedicated to training your dog so they can most enjoy being out in the world among other people and animals! That said, some dogs have anxiety or past trauma and they just need one-on-one attention and calmness. I can provide whatever your creature needs as long as you let me know! Please share their favorite treats, toys, games, and of course any medicine details or allergies if applicable.
A typical day
Obviously walks are essential, and I like to switch up the routes we go so the dogs get to sniff new smells. If your dog is allowed to play at dog parks, I'd love to play fetch and/or run around with them!

Your pet's new BFF--other than you!
Pet care experience
I've been the go-to pet sitter for friends and family for years now. I always thought I was a cat person until Covid-related circumstances had me living with my niece and her senile beagle/german shepherd (weird but adorable combo) and I was converted (still love cats, though!) I have experience from senile dogs needing some extra care, to needy little yappers, to gentle giants like my sister's 140 lb rottweiler. My niece is also a professional dog trainer, and I'd like to think I picked up a thing or two from her over the years!

Reviews

Jini watched my our dogs for a week and totally put us at ease while we were away! Our dogs are both a little shy/awkward with new people, but they loved Jini and seemed to really enjoy their time with her. Jini provided us with updates and followed instructions we provided. Additionally, she left our apartment in great condition! Would highly recommend her for sitting needs!

my nervous dog took to jini very quickly and we are so grateful. she is very nice, communicative and made us feel comfortable taking care of our precious lou! we will definitely hire her again soon!!

Virginia is always incredible and communicative. She takes great care of our VERY dramatic Great Dane. We love her!

Virginia was absolutely amazing with my stubborn-but-sweet old lady pitbull. So amazing, in fact, that I handed Virginia a dog that was hopped up on anti-anxiety with an upset stomach, and received in return a happy, chunky, well-rested pup. Clearly, Virginia’s patience and kindness won over even the grumpiest of dogs, and for that, I am very grateful. Thank you, Virginia!
