I retired 10 years ago to care for my granddaughter. I still homeschool her a couple of days a week, but now find myself with time to do what I'm passionate about, caring for animals.

I believe pets feel happiest and safest when they can stay in their own familiar environment. When caring for pets in your home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal as possible so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I follow your instructions carefully and make sure your pet receives the same care they are used to. This includes: • Feeding according to your pet’s regular schedule • Fresh water at all times • Walks, playtime, and exercise • Lots of attention, affection, and companionship • Cleaning up after pets and keeping their area tidy • Administering simple medications if needed • Keeping their routine consistent to reduce stress Because I have 50 years of pet ownership and experience with rescue animals, I’m especially patient with pets who may be shy, anxious, or adjusting to a new situation. I also make sure owners feel comfortable by providing updates and photos, so you know your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away. My goal is to give your pets loving, dependable care in the place they feel safe and loved 🐾
Information Virginia K. would like to know about your pet
Before a booking, I like to learn about your pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can care for them the way you do. Please let me know about feeding schedules, medications, favorite activities, fears, or anything that helps them feel comfortable and safe. The more I know, the better I can make sure your pets are happy and relaxed while you’re away. 🐾
A typical day
During my 30–60 minute visits, I focus on giving your pets the care, attention, and comfort they need while you’re away. With over 50 years of pet ownership and experience rescuing and transporting animals, I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and cared for in their own home. Each visit includes feeding and fresh water, potty breaks or a walk, playtime, and plenty of affection so they don’t feel lonely. I also check that everything in your home is secure and that your pets are happy and comfortable. My goal during every visit is simple—to make sure your pets feel loved, relaxed, and well cared for until you return. 🐾Here’s a brief “Important to Know About Your Pets” paragraph that works well on Rover: ---

Pet care experience
What makes me different as a pet sitter is a lifetime of experience with animals. I have over 50 years of pet ownership, caring for dogs and other animals in every stage of life—from playful puppies to seniors needing patience and extra care. I’ve also spent years helping rescue animals and transporting pets to safety, which has given me experience with shy, nervous, and newly rescued pets that need a calm and understanding person. Because of this, animals tend to feel comfortable with me quickly. To me, pets aren’t just animals—they’re family. I treat every pet in my care with the same attention, kindness, and reliability I would want for my own.
Reviews

Have booked twice and deeply appreciate her help. Our babies were very well cared for!

Virginia is great! She took care of Riley as if she was her own.

I found Virginia's warmth and obvious care for animals so comforting. I recently lost one of my rescues and needed to go out of town. It would be the first time my little girl would be alone in her entire life experience. I was worried about her. She took to Virginia so quickly and the pictures just showed a happy cat, a very happy cat that got a lot of attention & affection. I got home and my little girl is calm, and happy. I can't recommend Virginia enough. Definitely five stars all around!!

She was great and even assisted outside of just watching Nani
