Pet care experience

Every animal is my best friend

Animals have always been a part of my life. Growing up we had dogs, cats, fish, reptiles…. You name it. I have yet to meet an animal that I don’t love. In my mind, they should be spoiled and showered with affection every opportunity. Their unconditional love is heartwarming and deserves to be rewarded with lots of cuddles. I take care of small and medium sized dogs up to 40 pounds and over 1 year old. This is because I do host tiny and disabled dogs. Larger dogs and puppies can be difficult if I am caring for an infirmed pup. I have administered medication in liquid, injection and pill form. Your baby is my priority. Rover is my only job so my time is spent feeding, playing with and caring for your pup, 24 hours per day. I have a team to back me up, my husband, Tony and my mother-in-law, Maureen. Between the three of us, your baby is never left alone. I ask that you reach out to me for updates. I will be taking pictures of your baby throughout their stay and will forward updates at your request. That way I don’t interfere with your vacation or business trip. I have my phone by my side all of the time and will only be slow to respond if I am truly unable at that exact moment. I do travel periodically so please check my calendar for availability. I keep my calendar updated at all times. I have a secure yard that makes it easy to keep your baby safe. I neutralize the yard with URI-CIDE ® pet odor eliminator. It is the only Microbial/ Enzyme based product that is designed for the complete removal of stains, pet urine smells and other odors of the most offensive kind. URI-CIDE® is 100% non-toxic, bio-degradable and safe to use around kids, pets and plants. One key bit of information is that we have installed a whole house Generac generator. This will protect your baby from the elements during bad weather even if the power in the neighborhood has gone out. They will remain in a climate controlled and lighted home.

Vicki and Maureen provide a fun, safe "dog home" for Scruffy. Returning to work has been a challenge and knowing that Scruffy is loved and cared for provided the opportunity for me to be present and productive in my new job. Scruffy learned to play and be part of a pack! I am forever grateful! Scruffy has expanded out of his anxious shell.

Vicki is a gift to Scruffy and me. She helped me as I transition to working and being away from Scruffy. She is gentle, kind and knowledgeable about all things "dog". Forever grateful!

Schedule

My fulltime job has been to care for dogs for almost a decade now. They are my priority every day and I couldn't ask for more fulfilling work.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

My home is set up completely pet friendly. Anything that I wouldn't want for your pet to access is behind a pet gate. I follow all feeding and medicine instructions and ensure that your pet is adequately exercised. There are lots of areas for playtime or relaxation depending on the level of energy that they have.

Pets

A typical day

I have an extremely dog friendly yard with toys and shade trees. Sometimes I even set up the pool. It's truly a pup paradise. I constantly look for new and fun ways to entertain your baby.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Vikki can host up to 6 pets per night
I like to know if your dog is socialized and to what degree. Also, it's important that I am aware of any allergies or medications that they may have. I need to know if your dog is not fixed. For the safety of your pet and others, it is difficult for me to accommodate an unfixed pet.
