Calm, caring, experienced sitter
I’m Vic, an experienced pet sitter from Brighton with over 10 years of experience caring for animals of all ages, personalities and needs. I’ve completed pet sits through TrustedHousesitters and KiwiSitters, and all my reviews have been five stars. Over the last three years, I’ve cared for pets across Australia and New Zealand, as well as in Indonesia, looking after dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, lizards, fish, goats and even a cow. Since returning to the UK, I’ve also continued looking after friends’ dogs and cats. I’m confident caring for young, energetic pets as well as senior animals who need a slower pace, medication or additional support. I spent a month caring for a 10-month-old Spaniel-Collie cross, keeping up with her training, exercise and daily routine. My experience also includes looking after puppies and kittens, elderly dogs, anxious rescue dogs, pets with epilepsy or FIV, and animals requiring daily medication and wound care. I also care for my own cat, Schwenly, who has varying needs. This has given me a deeper understanding of adapting care to suit an individual pet’s personality, health and routine. I’m currently learning about the Trust Technique, a mindfulness-based approach to working with animals, and intend to complete my diploma within the next two years. This is helping me develop an even deeper understanding of animal behaviour and support pets calmly, patiently and respectfully—particularly those who are nervous, anxious or unsettled. I have a naturally calm demeanour and take the time to build trust at each pet’s pace. I’m reliable, conscientious, clean and tidy, and understand how important it is for pets to feel secure and well cared for in their own home. I’m also happy to care for houseplants and gardens, and work remotely, allowing me to provide plenty of company and attention throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment
I create a calm, safe and reassuring environment for every pet. In an owner’s home, I follow their instructions carefully, maintain familiar routines and make sure doors, gates and windows are secure. I introduce myself at each pet’s pace, use positive, reward-based interactions and never force contact. I’m also attentive to signs of stress, illness or changes in behaviour and will keep owners updated. Unfortunately I can't offer care for pets in my own home due to my own cats.

Vic looked after my puppy for a whole month and I couldn't have been happier with the care, attention to detail and understanding Vic gave to my dog. Milo (the pup) was 9 months old when Vic had her, and is a working breed, so it was no easy feat supporting her and caring for her at that point of peak adolescence! But Vic handled it with absolute positivity, understanding, patience and professionalism. The communication was fantastic and I never had a doubt that Vic was not only looking after Milo's basic needs but also continuing to educate her as well. Vic went above and beyond with Milo, listening to everything we discussed and implementing it, working with her on more challenging behaviours when they arose, learning Milo's routines and needs and when I got back there were things that Milo had improved so much on thanks to her stay with Vic. If you are looking for a pet sitter who is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and supportive then I would look no further. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to leave Milo with Vic again - in fact I know Milo would absolutely love it! Thanks Vic :)
I can not recommend Vic highly enough as a pet sitter. I have known her for over seven years and in that time I have witnessed her provide exceptional care to a multitude of animals, including her own beloved cat. Vic is the embodiment of an animal lover, she cares deeply about ensuring whichever animal she is looking after feels loved, safe and valued. I spent 2 years travelling and pet sitting with Vic, and in that time we looked after cats, dogs, chickens, reptiles, a rabbit and farm animals - all with a variety of care needs. Some required daily medication and had complex trauma and/or training schedules, meaning strict adherence to their routines and mindfulness of their wellbeing was required - which Vic provided effortlessly. Vic is calm, grounded and takes everything in her stride. She will take the time to get to know you and your pet, ensuring that you have complete peace of mind whilst you're away. If you book Vic you can rest assured that your pet will be in the best hands - she's amazing!

Schedule
I work remotely, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I follow each pet’s usual schedule for meals, walks, toilet breaks, medication, playtime and rest, while providing companionship throughout the day. I’m happy to adapt my routine to suit individual needs, whether that means energetic exercise, gentle senior care or quiet time for nervous pets.
