Pet care experience

Hi ! My name is Victoria and I am undoubtedly a pet lover. I am a local college student hoping to provide the best care to your pets as possible. I have been taking care of dogs and cats for most of my entire life. I am a Veterinary Assistant at a Veterinarian Hospital. I have knowledge of what to do in most cases with pets including the basics of walking and feeding the pet. I can also give injections to the pet or feed them medication. I have a 4 year old Golden Retriever who is full of energy, he loves accompanying me on long walks! Due to his energy level and age, we walk 2 miles a day. I look forward to meeting and take care of your pet. I am very accommodating when it comes to people schedules and preferences. I work a short schedule since I am a full time student 😊 I love to take dogs on walks, play fetch in my backyard or explore the park in my neighborhood! If there are any commands you are working on, I would love to help keep the training going while you are away. I have crates available if you are interested in learning how to crate train your fur baby!

Victoria started off the visit over 4 hours past the time we agreed she was supposed to come let my dogs out. The lateness continued to the point where my neighbors had to step in to look after my pups out of concern for their health. Victoria also started listing out reasons why the sitting was difficult after the booking was already confirmed and paid for. Wish it went better but would not book again.

Victoria is so sweet and our dogs loved her. She kept us updated on how things were going and was respectful of our care instructions and our home. We would love to have her watch our dogs again. Thank you Victoria!

Unfortunately this relationship didn’t work for us. I’d asked her to be here at 3, and said the latest she could arrive was 3:30. At 5 I hadn’t heard from her so I checked in on her. She wasn’t here until 5:37, which is over 2 hours past the time I said was okay. I could have forgiven this had their been any communication, but she never told me she’d be late or apologized. When we got home today, there was pee all over one of the dog beds. My dogs don’t have accidents inside. Based on the fact that it soaked through their entire bed through to the floor and has to be replaced, I assume this happened yesterday when they were alone for more than they are able to be and wasn’t cleaned up. I asked how long they were alone for today and she said she let them out around 7:30 am and again around 1 when she came back to get her things. I was clear my one dog has separation anxiety and was really disappointed that Victoria arrived so late without any plan to tell me. It’s possible she missed the accident in on dog bed, but it was soaked and smelled like pee. I saw it the second I walked in the door. She was nice when we met and the dogs seemed to like her then. Since walking back in neither dog has left my side and they don’t seem like themselves. We won’t be using Victoria again. I imagine she’s great and that this was a one off time where my dogs weren’t given the attention they deserved because she had other things come up, but the lack of communication, the lateness that was frankly risky for their mental and physical health as it put them alone for longer than a threshold I was comfortable with, and a urine soaked dog bed are three things that definitely prevent me from wanting to try this again. I left her cash in addition to what I’d paid because I wanted her to be better compensated, and I’m just disappointed more care wasn’t taken. Any one of these things alone I could have understood, but it’s the lack of communication that is most upsetting. Had she told me she needed to arrive later in the day I could have arranged for someone else to take them out and spend time with them.
