Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. We live on a fully fenced one-acre property where dogs have plenty of room to play, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. Because our yard is surrounded by trees and natural foliage, I require boarding dogs to be on a veterinarian-recommended tick preventative. Whether your pet is boarding or I’m visiting them in your home, I’ll care for them as if they were my own by following their routine, respecting their individual personality, and paying close attention to their body language and comfort level. I also believe it’s important to teach my children to respect animals and their boundaries. Together, we’ve created a calm, gentle home where pets are treated with patience, kindness, and lots of love.

Information Victoria G. would like to know about your pet

The more I know about your pet, the better I can make them feel at home! Please let me know about your dog’s daily routine, favorite activities, feeding schedule, medications, allergies, fears, quirks, and any commands or training cues they know. I also appreciate knowing how they interact with children, other dogs, and new environments. Every dog is unique, and my goal is to make their stay as comfortable, safe, and stress-free as possible by following their routine and respecting their individual personality and needs. Honesty is always appreciated! If your dog has any behavioral challenges or special needs, please let me know in advance. My goal isn’t to judge—it’s to set your pet up for a safe and successful stay.

A typical day

Every pet has a different idea of fun, so I tailor activities to their age, energy level, personality, and preferences! We spend plenty of time outdoors playing in our fully fenced yard, exploring, sniffing, and enjoying fresh air. Whether your pup loves to chase a ball, play fetch, zoom around the yard, or simply relax in the sunshine, I’m happy to follow their lead. I also love incorporating enrichment into each dog’s day to keep them mentally engaged. Depending on your pup’s interests and any dietary restrictions, we may enjoy puzzle toys, snuffle mats, frozen Kongs or treats, lick mats, bubbles, sprinklers, or our splash pad during the warmer months. My goal is to provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation so your dog goes home happy, relaxed, and fulfilled. Meal times are always kept separate and secure to ensure everyone eats only their own food and any feeding instructions are carefully followed. Throughout the day, I pay close attention to each dog’s body language and energy level, making sure they have plenty of opportunities for water, rest, and quiet time whenever they need it. One of my favorite parts of the day comes when the house quiets down during nap time and after my kids are in bed. That’s when each pup gets dedicated one-on-one time for cuddles, belly rubs, brushing (if they enjoy it), or simply relaxing together. At bedtime, dogs are welcome to sleep wherever they’re most comfortable in our home—whether that’s on a dog bed, in their crate, or curled up on the couch (just not in our beds!).

Where Dogs Feel at Home

Pet care experience

I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life and was fortunate to grow up learning from my father, an experienced police K-9 trainer and handler. That lifelong experience gave me a strong understanding of canine behavior and the confidence to care for dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities. I have experience with crate training, potty training, leash training, introducing dogs to children and other animals, and managing food and toy resource guarding. My goal is to provide every dog with a safe, structured, and loving environment where they feel right at home. I offer in-home boarding for up to three (occasionally four) dogs at a time, allowing me to provide personalized care and plenty of one-on-one attention. Because I’m home throughout the day, puppies benefit from frequent potty breaks and routine reinforcement, while senior dogs receive the extra patience and care they deserve. I also offer drop-in visits for all types of pets and flexible pick-up and drop-off services for an additional $30 each way. For boarding stays longer than three days, I may request a four-hour daycare trial to help ensure we’re a great fit. Proof of current vaccinations is required for all boarding guests.

Victoria was wonderful with Gryffin. She seems to understand dogs really well and knows just how to introduce them to each other, keep feeding separate so there are no issues and keeps them happy. Gryffin was very happy there and well taken care of and I will definitely book her again.

Victoria, her care, and her family were phenomenal. I was in a fairly dire situation with respect to time and was beyond nervous about leaving my little friend with strangers. Princess (I didn’t name her) loved it and I give Vic and her family my enthusiastic recommendation. My sense of dread became much more than relief, but actual thankfulness.

I have to admit, I was a little hesitant at first. I usually book pet sitters with the higher rates, but after a recent life changing event, I’ve had to be more mindful of my budget. That led me to Victoria and I’m so glad it did. Don’t let her affordable rates fool you. Victoria provides top-tier care at a price that understands the reality of being a pet parent in Genesee County. Her yard is huge, giving dogs plenty of room to run, play, and burn off energy. She also administers medications at no extra charge, sends lots of photos and videos, and even has extra pet supplies on hand for parents like me who always seem to leave something behind. What really stood out to me was her ability to read both dogs and their owners. She has a calm, confident way about her that immediately put me at ease and helped make leaving my big lug, Strysen, much easier. Whether she’s a trainer or simply has years of experience, she definitely understands canine behavior. As the owner of a large breed, I also appreciated that Victoria isn’t intimidated by bigger dogs. She looks beyond size and focuses on each dog’s temperament, personality, and individual needs. Most importantly, Strysen had an amazing stay. He came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. If anything had been off, Strysen would have told me. We’ll definitely be booking with Victoria again and probably sooner rather than later. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares for your dog like family, I highly recommend her. Byson T.
