Was non responsive during drop off window ended up having to pivot to a pet hotel

I would not recommend this sitter based on my recent experience. I left my dog and cat in her care for 48 hours, providing clear feeding instructions for both pets. Unfortunately, those instructions were not followed—my cat was only given dry food and did not receive his wet food as directed. My cats litter box was returned to me with a half a bag of poop, which tells me that it wasn't clean for the duration of their stay. When my dog returned home, he immediately drank a large amount of water, which raised concerns that he may not have had consistent access to water during his stay. Communication was also very disappointing. I requested updates, including photos and videos, on two occasions. I never received any videos and was only sent three photos total. One of those photos showed my cat sitting in a bathroom sink with his litter box placed underneath the sink, which made me concerned that he may have been confined to the bathroom for most of the stay. In addition, I attempted to call her three times and did not receive an answer. I was later told she was busy celebrating Easter, which does not align with the level of care and availability I expect when someone is responsible for my pets. Pickup was also problematic. I had to wait about 10 minutes to be let through the gate, and I discovered that she does not live in a house as stated on her Rover profile, but in an apartment. This was important to us, as we specifically look for sitters with adequate space for our large dog. Finally, when I arrived, my pets were not even with her—they were handed off to another person because she had left to pick up her grandmother from the airport. Overall, this experience did not meet basic expectations for communication, transparency, or proper pet care. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions and proceed with caution when considering this sitter.
