Availability

During the school year, I have classes later in the day, which leaves my mornings and evenings very open for pet care. I’m available for dog walks before classes and in the evenings, and I’m very flexible with scheduling. I already spend a lot of time walking around downtown, so incorporating dog walks into my daily routine is something I genuinely enjoy. During the summer (May- August) I work a typical 9–5 schedule, but I’m still more than happy to provide evening walks and overnight pet care. I also don’t currently have any pets of my own, which makes my apartment a calm and comfortable environment for boarding or overnight stays if needed. I’m committed to making sure pets get consistent, attentive care that fits both their routine and yours.

Safety, trust & environment

My pet care approach depends on each pet’s routine and needs. I always follow instructions closely, including feeding, walks, and any special care, to keep pets comfortable and consistent. In my home, I provide a calm, clean environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and regular walks. I don’t currently have a yard, but I make sure pets get plenty of outdoor time through frequent walks. Since I don’t have pets of my own, I’m able to give them my full attention. In a client’s home, I stick to their pet’s normal routine to help them feel secure, while also keeping owners updated with messages and photos.

Information Victoria D. would like to know about your pet

I think it’s very important to know each pet’s routine, personality, and any specific needs ahead of time. This includes feeding schedules, exercise preferences, medical needs or medications, and any behavioral tendencies like anxiety, aggression, or triggers. I also like to know what they enjoy (toys, activities, walking habits) and what helps them feel most comfortable. The more I know, the better I can make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

A typical day

On a typical weekday during the school year, I like to start the day with a morning walk or check-in before classes. I make sure pets are fed, exercised, and settled before I head out. Since my classes are later in the day, I’m also available for mid-day care when needed, and I always make time in the evening for walks, playtime, and attention. I also enjoy incorporating pets into my daily routine whenever possible—whether that’s having them relax nearby while I study or bringing them along on walks—so they get plenty of companionship throughout the day. On weekends, I have a more open schedule, so I’m able to spend extra time with pets, including longer walks, outings, and more one-on-one attention. During the summer, when I work a 9–5 schedule, I prioritize morning and evening care, including walks, feeding, and overnight stays if needed, to make sure pets continue to get consistent, reliable care.

Pet care experience

I’m a junior at the College of Charleston studying marine biology, and I’ve been dog and cat sitting for over 10 years for friends, family, and repeat clients. I also spent 2 years working at Central Veterinary Hospital, where I assisted veterinarians and technicians with safely handling animals, monitoring behavior, and helping pets stay calm and comfortable during visits. That experience taught me how to read body language, recognize signs of stress or illness, and confidently care for pets with a wide range of needs and personalities. I’m reliable, patient, and truly love building trust with every animal I care for.

Victoria was one of the best sitters I’ve had to date! She was extremely thorough and deeply cared about the wellbeing of my animals (their routines, play time, favorite toys, etc.). My cats are absolutely OBSESSED with her, and I know if I ever need to go out of town anytime soon, she’s definitely the sitter I’m contacting. Can confirm she’s a 12 out of 10 great sitter and person!! Definitely book her!!

Victoria has always had a special compassion for animals. She is loving, patient, and kind, and her dedication to animal care started at a young age. At just 10 years old, she volunteered at our local animal shelter, cleaning kennels and washing dishes simply for the chance to be around the animals. She continues to care for animals and would have 10 if she could afford and house them. She pays for her own college and works as well, but still finds the time to help animals in shelters find permanent homes by assisting with "Dog Day Out" programs. Victoria is reliable, dependable, and truly cares about the well-being of every animal she meets. Anyone who trusts her with their pets can feel confident knowing they will be cared for with the same love and attention she would give her own.
