Availability

I left my teaching job in June and am in the process of applying for jobs so have a lot of free time on my hands to spend with your dog(s) and/or cat(s) 😊 I’m available early mornings until late at night almost every day of the week. I’m ideally looking for a remote position so I can continue caring for cats and dogs during the work day.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a high-rise building in a two-bedroom apartment with a giant park right outside my front door. I keep a clean apartment and make sure to puppy-proof it if your puppy will be staying with me for any amount of time. I have a 6 year old lab-mix to keep your pup company and help get out some energy. My dog Barry is great with playing gently with small dogs/puppies so your pup will most likely come home tired and happy. On the flip side, if your dog would rather be left alone he's good about minding his own business and leaving your dog alone. I make sure dogs stay on their leash the entire time we’re outside, unless you say it’s okay for me to take them to a dog park and take off their leash. I love spending screen-free time whenever I’m with my dog or your pets so I won’t be on my phone while walking or caring for your pet (unless it’s to message you or update the Rover card). This allows me to make sure your pet is always safe and not eating something they shouldn’t or approaching an animal that doesn’t want to be approached, or anything of the like.

Information Victoria D. would like to know about your pet

I do not have breed preferences as I think that every dog I see is the most adorable doggo ever. My dog Barry does best with small dogs, puppies, or elderly dogs so for daycare or boarding I only accept booking from clients with dogs in that category for the safety of my dog and your dog. I would like to know what previous training the pet has had, any medical or behavior issues of which to be aware, and what kinds of toys and treats are their favorites. Knowing their walk/exercise and feeding schedule is useful as well. Any other information about personality is appreciated as well!

A typical day

Ideally we’ll make our way to the Lake Front Trail or the Riverwalk where we’ll run (if that’s what the owner wants) or we’ll enjoy a nice walk. I’m happy to take your dog to the nearest dog park where he/she can play with other dogs, and play fetch and tug with me! Other activities can include training such as basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, etc.), leash etiquette, tricks (roll over, play dead, shake, etc.), or general obedience. Stays always include lots of cuddles with my husband and me, and we have a lot of dog toys for your dogs to use.

Pet care experience

Overnight boarding will be full of toys, games, cuddles, and potty breaks at the park right outside my building with the sweetest, happiest, and snuggliest rescue dog you’ll ever meet, my dog Barry! Dog walks can range from leisurely long strolls to 5+ mile runs no matter the weather, with a swim break included if near the beach! Staying at your apartment will include games, cuddles, some training, and plenty of exercise. I’m a bit of a neat freak and can’t tolerate too much mess so I’ll leave the apartment as clean, if not more clean, than when I arrived. I’m happy to include any basic training, bathing, routines while your pet(s) are in my care. I’ve always adored animals and my childhood dream has been to start a rescue, pet store, training center, vet center, and more called Animals’ Second Chance, and this is the perfect way to dive into the business! If there is anything else you would like to know then please feel free to message me at any time. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member(s)!

Victoria is the best! She is always available even on a short notice or the freezing cold. Our pup loves seeing her and she sends great report cards. Highly recommend her!

Victoria was awesome! She took great care of my kitties Syd and Sabrina. She made sure to keep tabs on their health and went above and beyond to make sure that they were happy and healthy in my absence. Victoria was also very on top of any new developments and was very communicative with me whenever anything happened or if she had questions. She also left very detailed notes about her visits which I very much appreciated. Victoria was definitely a great petsitter and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking to have peace of mind and company for their fur babies while they're gone!

Victoria was a great sitter! She was very communicative about when she would be visiting my cat. She was super sweet with my very clingy cat, sent nice descriptions of how he was doing, and sent me photos of him! I definitely recommend Victoria!
