All dogs are my favorite

Pet care experience

I started walking neighborhood dogs in 3rd grade because 1: my parents wouldn’t let me get one (SO lame) and 2: the extra money was nice. In high school I started doing overnight care and continued that all throughout college. I currently work full time but I have very flexible hours so I have lots of time to play with dogs and take care of your home. I have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages. Everything from Chihuahuas to Saint Bernards! I have taken care of dogs during medical emergencies and have administered medicines. I truly love dogs of all kinds! I would love the chance to get to know your fur babies and take care of them while mom and/or dad are out of town! I currently work full time but I have flexible hours. I am also able to work from home on occasion for part of the day. I watch pets in their own home so that they can keep the familiarity of thief environment while the owner is away. I will follow all provided care instructions. We can go on walks or play outside. And cuddling in greatly encouraged!

Victoria took great care of our two dogs; taking them for walks, feeding them, and keeping company with them.

Victoria was fantastic! She took a last minute request from me and not only do I appreciate her willingness to watch my dogs last-minute, but I couldn't be happier with the care they got. My dogs (chiweenie and goldendoodle) are both pretty anxious but they took to her almost immediately, and she took great care of them while sending me daily updates (which I so appreciated). I'm definitely booking Victoria again!

I have a special needs old chihuahua, as well as two spunky cats. Victoria was very patient with them all. She was also very thoughtful and respectful in our communications and with how she took care of my home. I'd welcome her back any time I need a babysitter again.

I came in with a lot of trust after seeing so many five star reviews, but truthfully I’m struggling to feel that way myself. Victoria got the job done, but I didn’t really feel a strong sense of investment and I am not really sure if my dogs got the best care. It ended up feeling like this was a side gig and not really a priority. Some things went really well. I truly appreciated her flexibility as I requested this stay while preparing for a move, and she was very patient and flexible as my dates and plans were changing. She was very friendly and professional in our communications. And she sent photos and updates while she was at the house. A few of the issues I had I paid almost double on Rover to book longer than a 24 hour window, starting at noon. Some things changed with contractors and scheduling, so I asked her to arrive around 3 or 4 at the latest. She didn’t arrive until after 5, so basically I could have just not paid the extra and it would have been the same. The part where I asked her to move back the start time I was fine with giving up (my choice), but she had confirmed 3-4 was good to go and never told me that she was going to be working that day and wouldn’t actually arrive till well after that. When she got there, she sent a few quick updates. After that, I didn’t hear anything and couldn’t reach her for several hours. No responses to texts, and I tried calling a couple times and it went straight to voicemail. It was getting late and I started to get nervous and had to call my backup sitter and asked him to get ready just in case. When she did respond later, she told me that she’d left for work and that she’d had her phone off. I shared with her that I am not comfortable not being able to reach the person who is caring for my house. I also reiterated that while being away for bits of time was ok, I am paying for house sitting and not drop-ins. The following day, before she left for work I asked her to turn the heater off for the dogs and make sure they had water. She disregarded my instructions and left the heater on. A bit later my thermometer app showed temps starting to rise to dangerous levels. I had to call a backup to go turn the heater off, and they checked and the dogs barely had any water. I really liked Victoria’s personality, she was friendly and easygoing. And I realize that with the number of dogs I have, the job is a bit of work. But I also pay a premium for that. Overall, I wasn’t prepared for the way that my job wasn’t prioritized, and I definitely struggled with the unpredictable and unreliable communications. If she had shared more clearly in advance what to expect with her schedule, or at least been more consistently responsive during the stay, this would have probably been a better experience.
