I mainly provide care in the pet owner’s home across Portishead, Clevedon and surrounding North Somerset areas, as most dogs are happiest and most relaxed in their own environment 🏡🐶 I keep your dog’s normal routine consistent — feeding times, walks, rest, and house rules. This is especially important for anxious dogs, rescue dogs, puppies, and dogs with separation anxiety, where routine really helps them feel secure. My approach is calm, steady, and predictable so your dog can relax and feel safe while you’re away. I am fully insured and DBS checked, so you can feel confident your dog is in safe, responsible hands. Before any booking, I take time to understand your dog properly — their routine, personality, triggers, and what helps them feel comfortable. That preparation really makes a difference.

Safety, trust & environment

I mainly provide care in the pet owner’s home across Portishead, Clevedon and surrounding North Somerset areas, because most dogs are just so much more relaxed in their own space 🏡🐶 I keep everything as close to their normal routine as possible — feeding times, walks, rest, house rules… all of it. This is especially important for anxious dogs, rescue dogs, puppies, and dogs with separation anxiety, who can really feel the difference when things change. My aim is always a calm, steady environment where your dog can just relax and be themselves. I am fully insured and DBS checked, so you can feel confident your dog is in safe, responsible hands. Before any booking, I always take time to understand your dog properly — their routine, personality, quirks, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. It makes a huge difference!

Information Vicky N. would like to know about your pet

To give your dog the best possible care, it’s really helpful to know: Medical needs or medication routines Anxiety, reactivity, or behavioural triggers Lead walking and recall ability Normal daily routine How they cope being left alone Sociability with dogs and people House rules (sofa, beds, boundaries etc.) Multi-dog household dynamics 🐕🐕 This is especially important for nervous dogs, rescue dogs, and dogs with separation anxiety, where small details make a big difference. The more I know, the better I can keep your dog calm, safe, and comfortable.

A typical day

Every day is tailored to the individual dog — there’s no one-size-fits-all routine. Most days include: Calm, structured walks in Portishead, Clevedon or nearby countryside areas 🌿 Sniff-led enrichment walks (the highlight for most dogs!) Play and enrichment suited to their personality Company and supervision throughout the day Feeding at their usual times Rest and downtime (just as important as activity!) Some dogs love exploring woodland, coastal paths, and new environments 🐾 Others are happiest with familiar neighbourhood walks and routine — I always follow what suits them best. And yes… for the ball-loving dogs 🎾 — fetch is absolutely part of the job! The goal is always a balanced day where your dog feels calm, stimulated, and settled.

Pet care experience

🐾 Are you worried about leaving your anxious dog, rescue dog, or new puppy with someone they don't know? I completely understand. Finding the right person to care for your dog can feel like a huge decision. We all want to know our dogs are safe, happy, and cared for by someone who genuinely understands them. That's where I can help 💛 👋 Hi, I'm Vicky! I provide dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight house sitting, and care for multi-dog households across Portishead, Clevedon, and the surrounding North Somerset area. A little bit about me — when I'm not with dogs, you'll usually find me exploring local woodland trails, countryside walks, and coastal paths 🌿🌊 I've always loved being outdoors, which means I'm constantly discovering new dog-friendly places to enjoy with my four-legged clients! My journey into dog welfare began through volunteering in rescue and rehoming, including supporting Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and PetRehomer 🏡 Working with dogs from different backgrounds taught me just how much patience, understanding, and consistency can help a dog build confidence and feel safe. Alongside pet sitting, I also have experience working in dog daycare environments, caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, personalities, and energy levels 🐕🐕‍🦺 From energetic spaniels and doodles who are always ready for their next adventure, to nervous rescue dogs who need a little extra reassurance, I've learned that every dog is different and deserves an approach tailored to them. A huge turning point for me was caring for Elvis 🐶 (pictured in my profile), a Covid dog with severe separation anxiety. Helping him feel safe, settled, and confident sparked my passion for canine behaviour and inspired me to continue learning everything I could about welfare, training, and emotional wellbeing. 🐾 Dogs I Particularly Enjoy Working With 💛 Nervous and sensitive dogs 💛 Rescue and rehomed dogs 💛 Puppies and young dogs 💛 Small and companion breeds 💛 Poodle crosses and doodles 💛 Dogs who thrive on routine and consistency 💛 Multi-dog households Every dog is unique. Some love adventure and enrichment, while others are happiest with calm companionship and a predictable routine. I tailor my care to the individual dog in front of me. 🎓 Qualifications & Ongoing Study 📚 Clinical Canine Behaviour (currently studying) 🩹 Canine First Aid 🐕 Dog Training Studies 🥩 Canine Health & Nutrition 🐾 Therapy Dog Qualification 🌈 Pet Loss Grief Support I'm also fully insured 🛡️ and DBS checked ✔️ 🌿 Walks, Adventures & Quality Time Whether your dog enjoys a gentle sniff-filled stroll, a countryside adventure, woodland trails, or coastal walks, I tailor every walk to suit their personality and needs 🐾 One of my favourite parts of the day is watching a dog settle into their walk at their own pace. Sometimes that means exploring somewhere new, and sometimes it means stopping to investigate every single lamppost! 😄 And yes... for the dogs who firmly believe 🎾 BALL IS LIFE 🎾, I am more than happy to join in! 🏡 Why I Focus on House Sitting Many dogs cope best when they can remain in the comfort of their own home. Keeping familiar surroundings, smells, routines, and sleeping arrangements can make a huge difference, particularly for anxious dogs, rescue dogs, and puppies still building confidence. When caring for your dog in their home, I'll maintain their usual routine as closely as possible while providing plenty of companionship, enrichment, exercise, and cuddles along the way. 📸 You'll receive regular pupdates, photos, videos, and honest updates throughout, so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for. ❤️ My Promise Safety, welfare, and kindness always come first. I take the time to understand every dog's personality, routine, preferences, and individual needs. My goal is simple: to help your dog feel safe, understood, and genuinely comfortable while you're away. One of the best parts of what I do is seeing a nervous dog slowly relax and realise they're okay 💛🐾 💌 I'd love to hear about you and your dog! If you're looking for calm, reliable care from someone experienced with anxious, rescue, and sensitive dogs, feel free to get in touch. I'm always happy to arrange a relaxed meet and greet before booking and answer any questions you may have 🐶💕
