Old Dogs Welcome
When I was a kid, I always imagined that having a dog would be the answer to everything in life. Yes, maybe a tad simplistic, but life sure is good when there's a dog around. In high school, I volunteered regularly at the local shelter, helping with bathing, grooming, walking, and playing. My volunteer work continued through college. In grad school, I adopted a dog of my very own, a corgi/shepherd puppy named Remy. During that time, I also dog sat for friends, classmates, and neighbors. I have cared for dogs of all ages, from puppies through seniors. My beloved Remy passed away in 2014. We recently said goodbye to our sweet Martin, a lab/pointer mix who passed away in December 2016. Both Remy and Martin were 16 y/o. Because of my recent experience in eldercare with Remy and Martin, I prefer to care for senior dogs (10 y/o and above) whose energy levels are low. Since Martin had kidney disease, I am familiar with feeding homemade diets and with administering sub-cutaneous fluids. I am well versed with the complexities of elder dog care, from tracking meals/water/stool to administering oral meds and injectables to managing doggie dementia, deafness, blindness, and night time anxiety. Your old friend will be in good care and company and receive plenty of love and attention. I am a Realtor by profession, so I'm "connected", accessible, and happy to provide regular updates while you're away.

Vicky and John have a great dog, Bentley who is just fun and a total sweetheart. Our dog is a little older and less active than Bentley and it seems to inspire our dog to play more with Bentley. They have a great set up with indoor/outdoor access. We give 5 stars for great communication.

Vicky did a great job taking care of our Beagle for the weekend. She took him to the park and kept us updated all weekend on how he was doing. He’s looking forward to his next visit.

Vicky was so fantastic with Biscuit! We got regular updates and super cute photos while we were away, and knew that Biscuit was healthy and happy. Vicky even spotted a minor health issue that Biscuit was having and told us about it promptly- I'm not sure we'd have spotted it as quickly as she did! We'd be very happy to book with Vicky again if we go traveling some time and can't take Biscuit with us.

Another fantastic experience with a great dogsitter! We were on vacation for 2 weeks, and worried about our dog being away from us for that long. Vicky was great for the stay. a. She did exactly what we asked in terms of the schedule we agreed on b. She spent a lot of time with our dog - more than we do - and our dog was very happy c. She sent us copious pictures of our happy dog - walking, playing, etc d. Vicky has great judgement about what's safe and appropriate for a "guest" dog versus one's own. We were never worried about her, and could focus on our vacation :-) We couldn't find fault with any aspect of the stay, and we hope that Vicky will be available whenever we need to get out of town!
Excellent dogsitter - couldn't ask for more. a. Vicky's place is great for dogs with a nice yard and (configurable, if you want it) doggy door. Stormy had a much nicer time there than at home :-) b. Vicky herself looked at and took into account all details of our request and profile - she did exactly what we asked for, to the T c. Great pictures, and lots of them! We were always reassured that Stormy was happy and comfortable Thank you! We look forward to more great stays :-)
Vicky took excellent care of Ramona, our 13 year old Lhasa Apso. When a family emergency came up for her, she took it upon herself to find another sitter for us to come to HER home while she was gone. WOW! Ramona needs medications applied to ears and eyes and Vicky was diligent and consistent when meeting Ramona's medical needs. She even took Ramona to the vet for us to have her ears re-checked while we were gone for 2 weeks. When we picked Ramona up, her ears were better than when we dropped her off. This is the second time we have used Vicky and we couldn't be happier to have found her and the wonderful, loving care she provides our Ramona. I highly recommend Vicky!!!

I live next door to Monta Loma Park, a popular neighborhood park adjacent to an elementary school, so your dog will enjoy lots of new daily scents! I have a medium-sized doggie door which also gives your dog access to our fenced yard.
