It is crucial to know their health needs (diet, meds, vet info, allergies), daily routine (feeding, walks, sleep, house rules), behavior (phobias, training, commands, quirks), and home safety (off-limits areas, escape risks, hazards like pools/plants) to ensure their well-being and a smooth transition.
Please also provide Veterinary info - Vet's name, clinic, address, phone number, and emergency plan.
Diet & Meds: Specific food brand/type, feeding schedule, portion sizes, treats allowed, and any medications/supplements.
Conditions: Any allergies, chronic issues, or past injuries.
Preventatives: Flea, tick, heartworm prevention schedule.
Routine & Behavior -
Daily Schedule: Feeding times, walk frequency/duration, potty schedule, bedtime.
House Rules: Allowed on furniture? Which rooms are off-limits?
Training: Commands known (sit, stay, come) and how to reinforce them.
Anxieties/Phobias: What scares them (thunder, cars, strangers)?
Quirks: Any unusual habits, like digging, trying to escape, or specific noises/signals.
Home & Environment -
Pet-Proofing: Identify hazards like pools, toxic plants, or unsecured fencing/gates.
Secure Areas: Where they sleep, eat, and their favorite hiding spots.
Supplies: Location of food, bowls, toys, leash, bed, and cleaning supplies.
Logistics & Emergency -
Contact Info: Owner's contact and an emergency contact/backup caregiver.
