Pet care experience
Med-student here for you & your pet
Hi all! My name is Veronica. I'm an Amherst College alumna ('17) and current 4th year med student (Dartmouth, Geisel School of Medicine '26). I spent my childhood in rural NY, TN, and VA with my grandparents and our dogs, cats, and parrot. In my household, animals were viewed as family, and were always treated as such. I've been taking care of/loving cats & dogs of all sizes (we have owned a daschund named Mr. Wiggles, an Irish Wolfhound named Hobbs, a collie named Blue, to name a few) and ages (puppies to salt&pepper seniors) since I was 5. My partner and I are also proud cat parents to two bonded, adopted cats (Gaston & Basil). I have cared for several friends', neighbors', and strangers turned clients' cats and dogs while they were away/traveling! I hope to bring the same love, respect, and care to your pet that I show my own when you are not there. No pet is too small, too big, too silly, or too drooly for me!

Safety, trust & environment
I am happy to house-sit your pet in your own home, be a dog-walker, or drop-in to feed/walk/play with your pet. For dog-walking & drop-in services, I would prefer if clients are within a 10-15 minute drive from New Haven, CT, though I will consider each request individually. Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate dogs or cats in my own apartment.
Ratings and reviews
Veronica is amazing no other words can describe her. She house sat and took care of our little Luna. She was patient, caring and loving toward her and they became best friends really fast. She went on daily walks with Luna fed her exactly as instructed, played with her and really she was just exceptional. Before we returned and at the time that she was supposed to take off, there was an 1.5 hour interval, first of all she was happy to stay but we asked that she should not because it was very late at night and we wanted to make sure she gets home safe but when she was leaving our Luna she was so sad to see her leave that she was howling! At that point I had found a competition as I have been the only person Luna has howled for so that says a lot about how much Luna loved her. She respected our home and when we got back everything was as we left it. I would say she is exceptional and look no further if you need your dog happy and safe.

Veronica is the best! She took such great care of my two cats while I was away. She was super communicative and sent great pictures, will definitely ask her to watch them again!

Cannot recommend Veronica enough! She was so sweet with my two cats and was super communicative. I really appreciated how flexible she was and how much of an effort she made to ensure my two cats were comfortable and could adjust to having someone new around. Will definitely hire her again and would recommend her to anyone!

Veronica was an excellent sitter for my boys, who are very social and demand lots of attention and cuddles. She sent me frequent updates, photos, and videos, which really made me feel at ease knowing they were well cared for. She was very communicative and responded quickly to every message. I would definitely hire her again!

So great with our dogs and communicated well the entire time she was watching them.
Veronica is truly the gold standard of a Rover sitter. She stayed at our home for a full week over Thanksgiving to care for our dog, Baloo, and we could not have felt more confident or grateful leaving him in her care. From day one, she was attentive, responsible, and wonderfully communicative. She kept us updated regularly, followed instructions perfectly, and treated our home and our dog with real care and respect. Most importantly, Baloo absolutely adored her. When Baloo got sick during the stay, Veronica went far above and beyond what we ever could have expected. She took the situation seriously, kept us informed, and even cooked him a separate home-prepared meal to help him recover. That level of thoughtfulness and dedication speaks volumes about the kind of person and caretaker she is. We returned home to a happy dog and complete peace of mind. Veronica is the kind of sitter you hope to find, but rarely do. We would have her back in a heartbeat and recommend her in the strongest possible terms to anyone looking for a truly exceptional Rover.
