I am currently interning at the International Institute of New England as a Legislative Advocacy Intern, and I am working on a hybrid schedule. I am unavailable on Thursdays when I need to go into the office, but otherwise, I'll be working remotely and will have lots of free time. I am located in Chestnut Hill, MA near Boston College, but I have access to both the T and a car, so it is easy for me to travel. Overall, I am very flexible with scheduling and will have tons of open time during the week to get outside with your pet when you need a date night or a couple days out of town.

At home, I help my family by feeding our dogs morning and night and giving them the proper medication that they need. I also go outside with them and play in our backyard as well as take them to different dog parks near our house to let them get out of the house every so often. At Crossroads, I took each dog on a walk every day and helped with feeding and playtime. I love walking, running, and hiking, so getting your dog out for some exercise is a given for my work methods!

Dog Lover w Professional Experience

Pet care experience

I have been surrounded by animals all my life, starting with my cat Cheeks and leading to the 3 dogs and 2 cats that I have at home. Alongside taking care of my family animals, I have professional experience with Crossroads Campus, a dog adoption center and non-profit in Nashville, TN. I worked in dog care during Summer 2025, and I go back to work during my school breaks. My responsibilities included taking each dog on walks, spending personal time playing with them inside and outside, feeding them, monitoring their behavior in a kennel environment, and learning each dog’s individual personality. I felt connected to each dog and can proudly say that all the dogs I worked with have been adopted. Ultimately, dogs and cats remain an integral part of my life, and I want to continue to remain close to animals and take care of them while I spend my summer in Boston.

Veronica was an excellent addition to our animal care team over the summer! She is always willing to go the extra mile for the pets and can be trusted to work well with some more challenges pets. Her work ethic is driven to help improve the quality of care for the animals around her. She builds great working relationships and has excellent communication skills. You would be lucky to have her care for your pet!

Veronica Pierce adores animals. In fact, she seems to have a special connection to them and can calm them and make them happy where others cannot. Veronica‘s affection for pets extends beyond when they’re happy and healthy. She is equally if not more attentive if they are out of sorts or sick. This is why as a teenager she began pet sitting for neighbors’ dogs when they were out of town. It is also why she was drawn to work at a shelter for rescue dogs and cats during her college years. Every day when Veronica went off to work there was joy in her step. She came home each night bursting with stories about funny antics the dogs got into or with the exciting news that one of them had finally been adopted. Spending time at the shelter with animals during the day did not lesson Veronica‘s enthusiasm for her own dogs and cats when she returned home. Veronica is the primary caregiver for her animals at home and ensures that they are well fed, walked, take their medicine, and have sufficient playtime. She is an extremely well organized and dutiful person, which means we never worry that the pets don’t have their proper care. For many years, since she began driving, she has been the person to take them to the vet and is always on the lookout if they are itching unusually or have a limp or other possible injury. You could find no better or more responsible caregiver for your animals than Veronica Pierce. She also is an excellent housesitter, having played that role for multiple neighbors for nearly a decade. Veronica is focused, fastidious, but also fun - an ideal choice for anyone who wants to ensure that their pets and homes are well cared for.
