My place is small but clean and spare, and I don't have any plants. There's nothing for a dog to get into, no food or cleaners at their level. My friend across the hall is a quiet senior, the woman above us is a quiet senior, and the people above her are adorable and have a sweet kid. On the other side of the property are my friend's awesome plumber niece and a friendly middle-aged couple: it's very peaceful here. My furniture is not special or perfect, so dogs are welcome on it. I take dogs to the beach and park unless they have another route they prefer, and do not run my own errands while with them. I try to walk one at a time, but as my business blossoms it occurs to me that some overlap may happen between a dog I'm boarding and a dog I'm walking. I will schedule so as to keep these instances to a minimum.

I have a lot of different kinds of toys to help mitigate any initial anxiety, and while with your pet am focused on them completely, paying attention to their cues and learning from them. I like to know what situations make them reactive, and what has worked to relax them in the past. I spend a lot of time chatting with pet owners and walkers, who offer insight and tips.
A typical day
I take dogs to the beach and park, let them sniff around and socialize with other dogs, and visit the off-leash area if you want that and your dog can be easily recalled.

Pet care experience
Hello! I'm a retired grandma who can walk dogs who do not become aggressive. I can board dogs and sit cats, but cannot board cats, as my adult son who visits often is allergic. I've lived in The Beaches since 2012, and am very present in the neighbourhood, so you probably recognize me. I love dogs, grew up with them and other animals, but lost one painfully, so am now hoping to spend time with yours. I'm writing a book, play chess in the park, and enjoy the library. I have four grandchildren, and one of my grandchildren has three siblings, who are basically also my grandchildren. I can pick up and drop off within The Beaches and Upper Beaches. Give me a shout if you want to meet for coffee and get a vibe read.
