I work remotely and have a pretty flexible schedule to give your pup the love, exercise, and attention it wants and needs. I maintain a pretty active lifestyle and love to incorporate doggy exercise into that.

I believe every dog is unique: so I adapt my care to match your pup’s specific routine and needs. Whether your dog is crate-trained, roams free in the house, has medication schedules, or special dietary requirements, I follow your established routine to keep them feeling comfortable and secure. I understand that consistency is key and I’ll stick to their usual feeding times, walk schedules, and house rules.
Information Vanessa W. would like to know about your pet
I'd love to learn everything that makes your four-legged family member special! Please share any unique quirks, preferences, or needs your dog has – whether that's their favorite treat for being extra good, which toy makes them happiest, or if they have any special care needs I should know about. I'm well experienced with all kinds of pet care, including giving medications, managing dietary restrictions, and providing extra TLC for any health concerns or injuries. No need is too big or small – I've worked with dogs who need everything from daily pills to gentle wound care to specialized feeding schedules. The more you tell me about your pup's personality, routine, and any special care they need, the better I can ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away.

I believe every dog deserves to live their best life – and that means endless adventure! Whether we're hitting up Fiesta Island for some saltwater fun and zoomies in the sand, exploring San Diego's beautiful hiking trails, or just cruising the neighborhood, we're going to have a blast! I love mixing things up with trips to the dog park where dogs can practice their social skills, backyard play sessions, and cozy indoor hangouts. I've been known to bring my dog (who passed last year) to cheer me on during beach volleyball games. Off the court, I loved paddleboard on the bay with him, enjoy picnics in a park, and organize dinners with the neighbors or friends where the dogs were the star of the show. Every dog is different, so I always tailor our adventures to match their personality and energy level. From mellow sunset strolls to high-energy hiking, we'll find the perfect mix of fun that leaves your dog happy, tired, and excited for the next time we’ll meet. I also absolutely love helping dogs learn new manners and tricks! Whether your pup needs some gentle guidance on leash walking, sitting and waiting politely for treats, or you want them to impress the neighbors with a perfect "shake," I'm here for it. There's nothing quite like the moment a dog finally nails that new trick and gives you that proud, “Did you see what I just did?!" look. Training can easily blend into our playtime, making learning fun for each of us.

Pet care experience
I'm a 34-year-old who's been living the "dog mom life" since the age of 7. Over the years I've had the joy of caring for every type of pup you can imagine: the small and mighty who think they're Great Danes, gentle giants who believe they're lap dogs, energetic puppies who haven't discovered the concept of "inside voice," and wise seniors who've mastered the art of the guilt-inducing stare. Each one has stolen a piece of my heart. Friends, neighbors, and complete strangers have trusted me with their four-legged family members, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. Countless times I've been told I'm an "Incredible dog mom" (My own pup, who I had to say goodbye to in 2024, was known for his sweet, gentle, good behavior – though between you and me, we had our "selective hearing" moments). I genuinely believe dogs are the best creatures to grace this planet. I live for adventures with dogs – whether that's a hike, dog beach, or just discovering the most interesting smell on the block. What I find most rewarding is connecting with pups who are typically shy or selective about their humans. I can't tell you how many times I've heard, "My dog doesn't usually like strangers, but..." There's something magical about that moment when a nervous pup decides you’re a good person – it's better than any compliment I've ever received. I'm here for all your dog care needs: last-minute walks when life gets crazy, boarding when you're away, or those epic adventures your four-legged family member has been dreaming about. I'd love the chance to show you (and more importantly, your pup) that I'm exactly the kind of human your dog deserves. After all, dogs have excellent judgment – and I'm confident yours will approve of me!
Reviews

Vanessa does an amazing job with our dogs! She spends quality time with them while we’re away, loves to go on walks and is able to care for one of our dogs who has extra medical needs. Would highly recommend her!
I can highly recommend Vanessa for any pet sitting and dog walking after I watched her outstanding love and care for her own dog with hour long daily walks, best customized dog food and the to the extent she went through for the best veterinary treatments when her dog was sick. She becomes the new best friend to every dog she meet. Our Sammoyed loved her, became her velcro dog. Our German shepherd mix looked forward to the special dog treats, love and care she always provided at the house or on outings with the dogs. Vanessa is very responsible and highly appreciated! A true dog and pet lover!

I’ve never seen my pup NOT excited to see me than when I came home with Vanessa there. She was already snuggled up (it was late) and clearly felt right at home. Not to mention this was an extremely last minute request that Vanessa helped with. I’m so appreciative and can’t wait to finally be able to enjoy my travels knowing that my pup loves her new sitter!
Vanessa is a great auntie to my hyper pup, Matty. She’s extremely reliable when I’m out of town and I can always count on her to know that Matty is in good hands!
